What threw up the wall for Doc Savage?

Up to volume 20 (of 33) of Ngaio Marsh's Inspector Alleyn series. She can really write... except I hate almost any part where she has characters romantically interested in each other (which isn't often). Maybe it's my secret fear that real people sound that bad and think that poorly when they're twitterpated.

There's an off-color techbro dad joke to be made between twitter-pated and X; but I can't land it...

I finished Eye of the Sh*t Storm by Jackson Ford. It was kind of fun, but it dragged on, I didn't like the ending, and where the main character seems to be going is not something I think I want to read.

I'm not sure what I'm going to read next. Maybe the Magic Goes Away collection by Niven, maybe some comfort reading.

I'm three-fourths of the way through Chrysalis, a Jeremy Logan techno-thriller by Lincoln Child. I'm pleased to say it's much better than the previous book, Full Wolf Moon, which was a piece of crap that almost made me give up on the series. But this one's holding my interest: it's about the impending rollout of immersive VR technology, and a killer who's been offing the high-ranking members of the technological company, Chrysalis, in an unexplained way, and now Logan's been brought in to investigate.
