I'm playing in a Ravenloft game right now, which is a Lovecraftian sequel to the CoS game we played in a year ago and more. Mostly the same players as before, same DM. A few of us get together physically, masked, and reasonably distanced. We use Roll20 for VTT, and Zoom for audio and video. The DM and 2 players are remote. It's been great.
We all played strictly virtually for a while, but at least a couple of us really, seriously needed the real-time face-to-face interaction. I actually started running Tomb of Apocalypse right when the lockdowns started. I had planned everything for running traditionally, and eventually found running virtually too great a strain, so gave up after a few months.
We started a second, exclusively face-to-face game recently. It's basically three of us that get together for the Ravenloft game, plus one other. Rime of the Frostmaiden.
One fo the remote players in the Ravenloft game will start running Tomb of Annihilation soon, when Ravenloft ends.
I have thoughts about running something again eventually, when I can do it with everyone present - or maybe just one or two remote.
