ALIEN LEGION!

There is work on a film or animated series; whatever the progress, it's been optioned at least. And I think there might be a new comics series soon.

No particular order:

Batman: A Death in the Family
Batman: The Killing Joke
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
Batman: Long Halloween
Batman: Year One
Most Alan Grant, Jim Starlin, and Greg Rucka Batman stories
Superman for All Seasons
Marvels
Kingdom Come
The Punisher: Welcome Back Frank
Hellblazer (the mini-series in which Constantine makes a deal with The Devil)
The Spectre (third series written by John Ostrander and mostly illustrated by Tom Mandrake)
The Watchmen
Wonder Woman (George Perez's run)
Preacher (the first 20 or so issues mostly)
The Books of Magic
Daredevil (the one written by Kevin Smith)
Justice League (the "funny run" which included classics like Batman knocking Guy Gardner out with -- to quote Blue Beetle -- "...One punch!")
JLA (most of Waid's run, particularly the "Tower of Babel" and "Midsummers Nightmare," and the first ten or so issue of Grant Morrison's run).
Sandman (Neil Gaiman's)

There're more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Alien Legion is a creator owned comic book created by Carl Potts. Potts has been working on getting his Alien Legin creation made into a movie for the last few years. First of all he sold the TV option on Shuken/Hollander Productions to make as a TV series for MGM. A pilot was planned for first with a script by Bob Gale. Showtime who MGM took the property then decided to pass on it. Rumour then had it that John Landis was interested in working on the property as a TV series.

The trail then went a bit quiet and the TV series idea seemed to fall through and the property went back into creator Pott's hands and he has been trying to shop the property round the studios.

The most recent word we have is that he has the project in development over at Dimension Films. J D Zeik was signed up to pen a screenplay with Don Murphy lined up to produce.

And that is the information we know at this stage, if you have any info on this project then do let us know

Alien Legion is, by far, my favorite comic series. No other series has captured my attention like it did. Gotta love Sarigar, Grimrod and Zeerod... :D

Best ever? Geez, that's tough. I really think The Dark Knight Returns and Batman Year One are near the top. The original Phoenix saga in X-Men, although it seems kinda cheesy today. Ultimate X-Men, Ultimate Spiderman, the Ultimates and maybe Ultimate Fantastic Four too (too early to tell there so far.) I liked a lot of the X-events; Fall of the Mutants, Inferno, Phalanx Covenant, etc.

And I've always liked that old episode of Fantastic Four when they teamed up with the Avengers to take down Galactus.
