"If I didn't call for the die roll, and I don't see the number on the die, then it wasn't rolled."

I believe in creating a gaming environment that is hostile to cheaters. :) Cheaters should game with other cheaters.

Our unwritten list
1. No drugs

2. No alcohol

3. smoking is done outside (not currently a problem since nobody in the group smokes)

4. Just because a player bought/owns a given supplement does not entitle its use. The decision as to what, if anything, will be allowed is up to the current GM.

5.Cocked dice or dice that fall off the table are rerolled

6. No powergaming (defined as showing no interest for anything outside of combat and complaining when the game moves away from combat) or munchkinism.

7. Character improvement (e.g, gaining new skills, multiclassing into a new class, etc.) must take into account in game events/experiences and availability of training (when appropriate).

8. Character knowledge and player knowledge are two seperate things!

1. If we’re missing one or two players, we play anyway. Characters not played receive no Experience Points – XP.
2. Phone before the game to say you won’t be coming.
3. Talking about something else than the game events while we are playing should be discouraged, including rule talks which may happen but should remain as brief as possible.
4. Players tell about their characters reactions to events in the game in proportional order of their characters’ Intelligence scores, Combat being the exception.
5. No Dungeon Master rulings are questioned during the session – always after.
6. Speech not directly addressed to the Dungeon Master during the game is assumed to come out of the Character’s mouth.
7. Cocked dice and dice on the floor are re-rolled.
8. Magic items and important equipment are kept on individual index cards.

My Table Rules begin on page 2 of my General House Rules, and are separated into the following categories:
  • Computers
  • Die Rolling
  • Etiquette

For computers, I prefer that the largest "computer" used by a player be a graphing calculator. I would allow players to use laptops if 1. It's small enough that I can see your face (or in the case of costumes with headpieces, your headpeace) over the monitor and 2. there's enough room on the gaming surface for everyone who wants to use a laptop to have theirs out.

I will allow die rolling with programs, provided that you show me the roll, just as you would with physical dice.

For die rolling, on actions that may require multiple types of dice, roll them all at once to save time.

With Etiquette, it's pretty much: don't make out with your life partner during a game, rules discussion occur only before and/or after the game and don't be a copy cat. I should probably throw in the common courtesy one of "don't talk about politics or religion outside the context of the game."
