D&D 5E (2024) What books would you like to see (in 2026 and beyond)?

I do wonder, do people really want Wizards to fill in the unexplored regions of the main campaign setting planets? Or leave that for the DMs to fill in with their own choices?
Most likely the latter since some of these homebrewers/DMs are likely to put their work on the DMsGuild website. These homebrewers/DMs are doing Wizards' work for them by filling in those unexplored regions of a given Material world.

I know, that's what got me inspired to put it on the official WotC list. 3E had such a book officially (and many unofficially). It's not that I need it right now, but I do prefer official over third party in this case (due to how my players work). I might still buy this at a later time as a pdf though when it's released and there are a few reviews out in the wild.
I will say WotC track record with immortal level content was not been the best.

I want a real effort toward a quality houndfolk species that does not have inherent magic like the Humblefolk species, has some variants, and isn't a shapeshifter (Reskinning a shifter doesn't work for me as the shifting mechanics take up too much design space.) Shifter is close to what I want, but I want all canine themes, and no temp abilities from shifting.

I'd like expanded Monster Manuals with more classic monsters that haven't been reprinted. I'd also like a big book of official Subclasses.

I miss the days of sourcebooks and monster manuals of 3rd edition.

Further themed monster books, like fiends (and celestials), elementals, undead, fey, aberrations, etc.

Since they seem to be updating a lot of settings, update Planescape with a Manual of the Planes type book, covering what was not included in the boxed set.
