I know, that's what got me inspired to put it on the official WotC list. 3E had such a book officially (and many unofficially). It's not that I need it right now, but I do prefer official over third party in this case (due to how my players work). I might still buy this at a later time as a pdf though when it's released and there are a few reviews out in the wild.

  • Book of Evil: with evil subclasses, evil celestials and guidance on running an “evil” or anti-hero campaign.
  • Van Richten’s, but for the Feywild.
  • A totally new setting in the format of the Eberron or Theros book.

There's nothing I would auto-buy, but things that would instantly get my notice:
  • Adventures set in Eberron
  • Bloomburrow MTG setting, or some other anthromorphic campaign setting
  • Edge of Eternities MTG or a new Sci-fi / Space Opera campaign setting
  • Brand New Campaign world! I'm sure someone will whinge that it's just like some other setting, but I'd like 5e get their own Eberron, so to speak
  • Ironic, given the last ... maybe a Nentir Vale book?
  • Any sign that 5e24 is not just rehashing old content. It's not that I'm not interested in Dark Sun or updating a lot of 5e subclasses to 5e24 standards (especially the ones that didn't quite hit the mark first go round), but I would love to be surprised by something innovative.
I know some of these have been done via 3rd party, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to see a WotC take on it.

Honestly, anything that isn't just adventure anthology/campaign books. The ones with little to no new items, mechanics, or monsters.

I have no use for adventures, official or 3pp, as they all suck.

I'd buy a book that was full of player-facing options for all the various settings and sub-settings that haven't been (and aren't likely to be) updated to 5e yet.

Campaign-wise, I would love to see Spelljammer, Eberron, or Ravenloft.

Setting-wise, if not something entirely new, I'd like for some of the Radiant Citadel worlds to get a full treatment (maybe like the FR campaign book, a deep dive on 5 of them?). Also would love to see the Feywild and Domains of Delight.

Character-options wise, as many subclasses as possible, of course. I'd also love WotC's take on a Witch class, since new classes appear to be on the table.

Finally, gimme a Manual of the Planes, dammit.
I've seen a fan create a Faerun globe map that planted the Radiant citadel locations in the unexplored continents like Osse and Katashaka and the many islands in those regions. I liked that.

If Wizards designs mini-settings I find interesting, like many of the Radiant Citadel locations, I like being able to put them in the world maps I am using, whether homebrew, Faerun, or Oerth. Those worlds have lots of unofficial space to play with, which I think is a feature, not a bug.

I do wonder, do people really want Wizards to fill in the unexplored regions of the main campaign setting planets? Or leave that for the DMs to fill in with their own choices?
