What Character Class Do You Usually Play?

My classes in the last 12 years were:

Paladin (Human lvl 11)
Necromancer ( Half-Elf lvl 6)
Cleric (Dwarf lvl 5)
Rogue (Planescape Tiefling Lvl 6)

all were AD&D 1e or 2e. The last two are the ones I am still playing but my all time favorite would be the Necromancer. Playing a lawfull evil character was just cool and it was a nice change after 8 years of being a paladin

Rogue mostly, or rogue derivates. My two current characters are rogue/cleric and rogue/fighter.

Cleric: Twice
Paladin: Twice
Thief or Rogue: Three times
Fighter: Four times
Barbarian: Once
Favoured Soul: Once

Monk: Once
Savage Species Medusa: Once
Fighter/Magic-User: Twice

Guess I really ought to try a bard, ranger or sorcerer next time. Or a warlock, swashbuckler, ninja, etc.

Ranger's my favorite archetype. Ironically, that's why I'm so picky about the details of the class. I prefer a variety of alt.rangers to the core ranger.

I chose ranger, though I like to spread it around. I've played ranger, rogue, sorcerer, wizard, fighter, psychic warrior, and even adept.

Though I DM a lot more then I play I've always had a fondness for rogues with a splash of fighter (3:1 or 4:1 mix)

Wizard.(Necromancer) is my general trend lately. I like Archetypals. The Undead surrounded Necromancer. The Stealthy Rogue, The Fighter with plate, longsword, shield and lance, and horse, the Cleric with plate mail, shield, and weapon of his/her god. The others dont interest me nearly so much, although the Scout and Warlock have definitely kick started my interest lately.

In our group I am THE GM. Well, with a couple short vacations each year...

I am Wombat, Master of Dice & Screens.

Last time I got to play I was a Red from Military in Paranoia.

Time before that, I was a Barbarian (actually Punk) Dworph from a fun & silly homebrew system.

And time before that I was a House Merenita Maga from Ars Magica.

So I just stuck to "I only DM".

I am a chronic multi-classer. Usually involving bard or ranger levels, though my all-time favourite character has both, currently being a ranger 2/bard 5.

Even when I don't play a multi-classed character, they often have builds that work towards certain prestige classes...
