Don't really focus on one class. I play whatever is missing in the group (bards for those battle happy fighter/cleric groups, rogues when around the wacky diplomats, etc.).

I feel a bit odd, after reading folks' posts after they've voted... because even before the poll popped up, I knew I was going to click "Cleric" and that was that. I am SOOOO addicted to the divine casters... *sigh*

I guess I did play a clr/wiz for a MT, but other than that.... no other core classes whatsoever... have to go all the way back to right as 3.0 was released, played a thief/barbarian/druid thingy.

hmmm.. maybe i should look at some of these other "classes" you all mention LOL

I tend to play wizards, but not because they are a favorite (although I do enjoy playing them) as much as nobody else in my group ever wants to play an arcane spellcaster, and I just can't be in a party without one.

Unfortunately, I've DM'ed a lot more than I've played 3.X edition. In all the editions of the game, my favorite class has always been thief/rogue (it'll always be thief, to me), then ranger, assassin (1st edition), and the tried and true fighter. For 3rd edition, I've played a rogue and a sorcerer. I really like the item creation rules for 3.X, but I've never really cared for the magic-using classes.

When I am playing I like to play a rogue, so that is what I will tend to go with. Though a ranger is close second and I have a dwarved cleric for LotGR games. He is actually pretty fun to play too.

Well since I am always the DM I havent actually played that much.
Out of about 10 characters, I have 1 Arcane Archer, 1 Barbarian and 8 Clerics.
So mostly Clerics :D

Fighter, because I'm not entirely comfortable with the magic system. Plus it is most like the heroes of fantasy novels I read.

I may try a sorcerer in the future. It seems fairly easy to pick up, not as restrictive as Wizards.

tough question to answer. The only class I really avoid are mages and there is another player in the group who adores his rogues so I don't play them often either...
since starting 3rd edtition I've played
cleric
Ranger
fighter
ranger
monk
paladin
paladin/hunter of the dead
hexblade
