What class are you most looking forward to playing once 4e is out and we have the official rules to play with?

Personally, and if you'd said I would be saying this a month or so ago I would've called you a nutter, I'm looking forward to giving the Warlord (renamed Soldier) a spin.

I'm normally all about the personal power, usually favouring rogues. But lately I've really latched on to the concept of someone empowering a group.

I'm going to base my character off of Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly. I was watching Out of Gas (for the hundredth time) the other night and it hit me that he's this awesome leader. He doesn't have piloting skills, he can't repair the ship worth a damn and aside from being a crack shot and good fist to have in a barfight, he's only real skill is in leading people.

Him and Adama from BSG. Although, Adama scares me, whereas Mal I'd follow 'cause he's cool :)

I voted rogue, but honestly it will depend on what the group needs.

I tend to play very group oriented characters. So there's a good chance I'll end up filling in a slot as a cleric who mostly casts spells and supports, or a fighter who focuses on protecting his allies.

But if I get free choice, it will be an elf rogue with a multiclass into ranger. I'll mix up a few ranged attacks with melee, and use the elf abilities to cut down on my miss rate. I hate missing.

I'm looking forward to getting the chance to play a 4E fighter. My first character was a fighter, and it should be fun to have some flashy abilities. I'm the DM so it will probably be quite some time before I get to run a character myself.

Paladin.

Paladin was my favorite class in 1E.
Paladin was my favorite class in 2E.
Paladin was my favorite class in 3E.

Is any additional explaination necessary? :)

Probably Wizard with warlord training. Maybe Cleric. Can't really decide between the two. I like the idea of playing a stern Wizard Commander, but I do like to play clerics too...

Decisions, decisions... ;)

Like most people, I'll end up playing whatever the group needs.

If I got my choice of the litter, I'll be playing a attack-oriented Warlord. Not sure about race, but just because it's shiny and new, I may take Dragonborn.

Probably Ranger. The Hunter's Mark thingy + Careful Shot was devastating in our little 4e trial run.

Cheers, -- N
