What classes haven't been done yet?

Mine too. Fighter archers are devastating. But heavy armor fighters all trained with Tower Shield proficiency are not the image I get when I think of archers as a mechanical archetype.

Actually, the last archer in my campaign was a Ranger/Rogue/OotBI. She started off a little slow until about 4th-5th level, then she had little trouble being effective most of the time.

Personally when I run, one of the house rules I use are the Everyman Skills. Everybody, regardless of class has access to certain skills as they're generally the sort of things they would have had the opportunity to experience by simply growing up in a medieval society. Craft, Profession, Knowledge (Local; home region), Swim, Ride, Handle Animal.

I agree with you on principle. However, I don't think everyone would have access to swim, ride, or handle animal. I would rather see an approach similar to Rolemaster Standard System/FRP or HARP adolescent skill packagages in which part of one's starting skills are determined by cultural background/environment (e.g., Urban, Rural, Nomad, Wood/Forest, Coastal/Mariner, etc.)

So, taking into account the new material in Complete Scoundrel, what classes haven't WotC put out there?

WotC still has not released core classes for:

Wheat Farmer
A character who specializes in wheat farming.

Goat Herder
A character who specializes in goat herding.

Midwife
A character highly skilled in aiding women in the delivery of babies.

Choral Singer
A character with a beautiful voice who sings in a church or temple choir.

Schoolteacher
A character who teaches all the youngsters left behind by their adventuring parents.

. . . as if "Commoner" and "Expert" are even remotely capable of handling these classes! Tush tush!

I never thought I'd say this, but.............

I want the Strong, Fast, Tough, Smart, Dedicated and Charismatic classes from d20 Modern. I want Fighter, Rogue, Wizard's Apprentice, Bard, Cleric and whatever else occupations alongside City Guard, Monk, Commoner and lots of other fantasy archetypes. I want simple guidelines for creating new occupations and Talent Trees for spellcasting ability.

Then give me Paladin, Wizard, Ranger & other Advanced Classes.

Give me that, and I'll create any darned character imaginable.

Classically Modern (link to .zip file) comes close to perfect IMHO in this respect.

Put in another vote for a good old fashion Shaman here.

Not Spirit Shaman, not Dragon Shaman, just a mystic class based in primitive societies...

...kind of like the Adept, but without the suckage of being a sub-par "NPC" class...

Dragonlance (which IIRC is semi official) provides many of the missing "core" classes

It has Noble and Mystic (the spont divine caster w/o wings) and in the Age of Mortals book, Mariner (for Pyrates) and Master which is supposed to be good for both adventuring Scholars and Crafters. The classes are (maybe) slightly weaker than say Codzilla or the like but they are playable.

It's an official Wizards of the Coast licensed property and all of the books we write pass by WotC for approval, so that's as close to official as you can get without actually being published by WotC (which the Dragonlance Campaign Setting was, in fact.)

Cheers,
Cam

Back earlier in the thread it was mentioned there is no official specialist classes for a number of other schools of magic, but it didn't look like anyone mentioned transmutation. Is there no love for specialist transmuters, or has everyone just gotten sick of Full Metal Alchemist wannabes?

With the possible exception of the Beguiler, I would say they haven't put out a decent new base class since Oriental Adventures- that is unless one considers class variants as per UA to be new base classes. Thankfully, we have third party products to rectify the situation. However, this is just my opinion and your opinon may differ.
