Promethea (uh, ditto)
Strangers in Paradise

Buy when Trade Paperback:
Cerebus the Aardvark
Usagi Yojimbo
(I just noticed a "funny animal"/serious storyline theme here)

Both this and Scion are destined to get the Crossgen axe when they implode later this year, due to poor business practices - Thanks, guys
I had hoped their runs had just ended... but I knew better when I saw the firing too. I have all their comics well except for their James Bond want to be but I thinking I'm about done with adding their titles.

El Cazador is also amazing though. :D

Very few comics interest me anymore because of either the bad art or unimaginative stories. Two comics that have caught my eye as of late are New X-Men (I thought #150 was good and 151-152 have provein interesting) and Silver Surfer. The new Silver Surfer title has a very strong "there's a lot more going on than you know" feeling and the best comparison I can make to it is an M Night Shambaylan (spelling?) movie. It has me intrigued. The Batman/Superman comic is also interesting, but I'm waiting for the trade paperback on that one.

This is a great thread for me, 'cause I just started picking up some books for the first time in years too:

Planetary -- just started this; cool idea, great story flow.

PvP Scott Kurtz's webcomic ( www.pvponline.com ) turned comic. Hysterical!

Cerebus I'm catching up on the last few TBPs. This venerable series ends in a couple months with issue 300 -- something the artist planned from nearly the start.

Knights of the Dinner Table still funny as ever.

The Clock Maker This series got flack for going with 12-page, tabloid-sized issues in its first four issues, but I loved the storyline and the boldness of the art played very well in large format.

I really liked With an Iron Fist, the storyline that posits Iron Man as president og a corrupt "one-world government" and the Weapon X Team aiding him against the Inhumans.

Who's writing it?
