Explosions are fun
I understand that the source of the explosion has probably already been decided, but I wanted to share one of my favorite hamlet destroying methods with you.
A Hammer Ship (from the Spelljammer setting) with a hold filled with smoke powder and greek fire. Other than the ship fragments, the results will probably look much like those of a very big, very bad fireball or something. One interesting wrink is if you allow the PCs to find out that the spellajamming helm is still intact and functional.
