Running two games: My "main" newbies game is Saturday afternoons for 5 hours (2 pm to 7pm) once to twice a month (we try to schedule two in months with five Saturdays). The other game is either Friday or Saturday evenings from 7 to 11 pm (only because one of the players is on the west coast, I actually prefer to not run D&D after dinner) and that group meets every 4 to 6 weeks.

Back in college days (the 90s) we used to play from 3 pm to 10 pm on Fridays and another game I was a player in on Sunday evenings.

Back in my 3.xE groups (the 00s), we played every other Saturday or Sunday from noon to sixish.

I have had regular games scheduled for every day of the week at various points. Currently I don’t have a game going on, but when I start Waterdeep up (in March at the latest), that will probably be on Mondays, and the Humblewood game I’ve been playing in (currently on hiatus, might switch to Frostmaiden when we start back up) was on Sundays.

During COVID, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

Outside of that? It was every other Wednesday, and another group on like Sat or Sunday, depending on what worked best. Only the Friday online one persisted throughout both umm... states of society? Yeah... let's go with that.

It's been Mondays since 4E began back in 2008 with one campaign swapping over to Thursday for about a year. Although during the quarantine I started a new online game for my group and we end up playing both Mondays and Thursdays.

FYI I did this same poll less than two months ago, only I broke each day down into daytime and evening. :)

Woops.

Typicaly (not 2020)
Thur evening = D&D 5e
Fri afternoon = Boardgaming
Sat evening = Miniature wargaming.

Sometimes there'll be some wargaming on another evening depending on schedules.

Sundays now, but you've made me look back at my evolution of days:

High School Days: church was in-town, so went straight from there to a buddy's house for Sunday afternoon gaming. From time to time, we'd pull an all-nighter on Saturdays with a sleepover.

College Days: similar routine to high school days. All-nighters were more common in the dorm days. Had a better chance of being sober on a Sunday afternoon than a Saturday, maybe?

Post-grad Days: Thursday evenings. That's what worked best for everyone. No magic formula. Could've easily been any other day.

Working man days: Sunday afternoons. Even after getting married, kids, it's worked best, even when I have to travel for work on a Sunday. I think that's because, for me, if something big is planned, it usually happens on a Saturday.
Days/Times really are dependent on your age. When I was in high school, we played about 4-5 days a week, but once in college it dropped to 2 days a week (one day with my college friends and one with high school friends). After college it was on Friday nights, because that was best for everyone. Now that we play online (which we did pre-COVID) with players across the US, we do Saturday afternoons (Eastern Time) to provide best times for everyone.

While most other days are relatively even, I've noticed nearly half the votes are for Saturdays.

Reasons:

Friday night is "date night".
First day of the week without school (or work, LOL).
Sundays are for church (D&D is not satanic , mom!) or sports (football!!!! 🏈 :D ) or just plain sleep due to staying up to 3 AM playing Saturday night. ;)
