Games & Settings
  • True20: But with updated architecture rather than the fairly outdated 3e d20 system. Admittedly, AGE is a bit of a spiritual successor, but it's not quite there
  • 4e D&D: as per @thullgrim. I would also want a version that leaned even harder into the World Axis mythos for its classes and ancestries.
  • Arcana Evolved / Diamond Throne: updated for the 5e system - not just slapping the setting on the existing 5e classes (I'm looking at you, Blue Rose 5e!)
  • Dawnforge: a setting written for the 3e setting contest, but it's premise is a setting that acts as a prelude to D&D's implied setting and tropes

Maybe I missed the reference earlier, but what happened to Top Secret?

Boot Hill was fine. But to me, the holy trinity of non-licensed TSR games* (other than D&D) was always Star Frontiers (with Knight Hawk Expansion), Gamma World, and Top Secret.

AFAIK, only Gamma World received further love. SF and TS remained forever stuck with their '80s versions.

*Marvel FASERIP! So good.
Top Secret and Alternity getting grabbed up by their original creators seem to be what inspired WotC to get the three non-D&D games they do have up and in print.

Star Frontiers got a d20 treatment, actually.

I really hope Ben Laurence "completes" his Jorune project.

Oooh, that would be a great meeting of the minds!

Last I heard the Elric folks are in movie negotiation hell. But Goodman Games probably will get it.

Which would be amazing.

The chances of an Elric movie remain slim but not none. I think it can be done, but it's a tall order. You can frame the first movie as a revenge tale against Yyrkoon. The weird psychedelic stuff could be phased out or intensified, probably depending on whether it's a Hollywood or Indie studio.

Seeing Goodman Games take on the world of Elric would be awesome. The patron options alone would be so cool.
