What dice would you like to see made?

Stainless Steel with that burnished look would be neat.

Jason Huff makes very nice burnished steel d6's. His pics at my dice site don't do his work justice. They're really beautiful. If you contact him, please mention that "Alexander, manager of the Dice Maniacs' Club site" put you in touch.

Re: Big Honkin' d20s

I want an Epic d20, folks . . . sure, they sell those d20s that are between an inch and an inch and a half wide, but I want a BIG d20. Something you save for the campaign-concluding climactic combats.

A bowling-ball sized d20 would be nice . . . I'd settle for one the size of an orange, though. Anyone ever see such a thing (that could actually be used)?

I have a friend who has an orange-sized d20. It's his only one; he uses it whenever we game. Very dramatic.

I have a friend's d34. Anyone else ever see one of those???

I'd like to see some metallic looking dice, such as copper, gold, siver, steel, mithril, etc.

My girlfriend wants animal print dice like zebra, tiger, leopard, giraffe, snake, arctic fox, with either gold or silver metallic numbers. I have to admit, those would look pretty cool.

I'm willing to bet that Zander has a few of them.

Correct! I have d34's in 5 or 6 different colours. There's a pic of a couple of them in my photo album (Alexander's Dice) at my dice site. See previous page of this thread for the link.

If anyone's curious, here's the list of dice shapes I have.

#sides... #shapes (Desc) ==============================================
2............2 (Binary Dice rectangular, Circular {3 different})
4............7 (Standard, CC, Wedge, Spheroid, 4-Spheres, Domino log, Knuckle bones)
5............2 (Calva D'Os, Lotto Die)
6............5 (Stnd/Joker/Stellate etc, CC/2000 M'poly, Spherical, Skullworx log, Alchemy/NFL M'poly log)
7............1 (Gamescience)
8............2 (Standard, CC)
9............1 (Lotto Die)
10..........3 (Standard, CC, truncated D8)
12..........3 (Standard, CC, AstroDice/Louvre rhomboid)
14..........1 (Carddice)
16..........1 (Gamescience{Bipyramidal})
20..........2 (Standard, CC)
30..........1 (Standard)
32..........1 (Czech Roulette)
34..........1 (European Lotto Die {Bipyramidal})
50..........2 (Gamescience {Bipyramidal}, Spheroid)
100........1 (Gamescience{Spheroid})
==============================================

36 shapes

Notes:
  • CC = Crystal Caste
  • Stnd = standard
  • The list excludes dice that are numbered 1 to x multiple times. For example, I have a 12-sided die that's numbered 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,4. It is not included in the list as a 4-sider.
  • The list lumps together shapes that are essentially the same. For example, I have plastic stellate 6-sided dice that are supposed to look like bones. They are considered 'standard'.

Especially when he rolls a critical hit.

"Yes, my balls really ARE this big."

Jester -- can you ask him where he got it? I'd love to buy a die like that . . .

I'll second that. Where did he get a giant d20?

The largest d20 I have isn't that big. It's about 2 inches across, made of firm yellow sponge and was made by Koplow.

TSR/WotC had a huge d20 about 5 feet (!) across which they used for publicity purposes. I don't know what it was made of but I'm guessing it was fairly light. I don't know if it was strong enough to roll.

Good subject ;)

Crystal Caste was supposed to come out with a Roman D4... it's a D12 numbered 1-4 3x in Roman numerals. I'd love some of those.
Chessex could use some new speckled colors, but I can't think of what.
As for the size of Dwarven Stones (jeez, that sounds SOO wrong ;) ) I have a bunch of the Koplow mini dice and I like the small size. You can throw them in 3 ring pencil case and toss that in your binder. I especially like the Sky Blue w/ Silver Glitter ones.
Oh, speaking of those, wouldn't transparent colored dice with holographic glitter be cool. They would sparkle just like real gems.
