What do you do during Holiday Travels?

As holidays are coming around again for many of us, it also brings about the dreaded holiday travel!

What do you do to pass the time during your travels?

I normally go for the long drive instead of flying myself. I love to houserule and tweak game mechanics, so I often spend a lot of time thinking about those.

I have created my best (and worst) houserules on the road, as can be evidenced in the house rules forum right now.

So what do you do?

Audiobooks for driving, traditional paper books for loafing.

I can usually get my wife to agree to listen to a book that I pick (don't ask how - this is the only time I always get my own way and I haven't figured it out yet myself), and I can always find the time to squirrel myself away in a room for a good read, even in someone else's house over the holidays.

I'm okay with long drives as well.

I like to listen to music a lot, but there are times I end up driving pretty far with nothing playing - just my thoughts... much of it RPG focused

Because I live more than a thousand miles from most of my family, I travel by flying, and spend the time on the plane reading novels or RPG books. During these vacation, I usually spend a fair amount of time reading pdfs of RPG books on my laptop, and will usually spend at least a little time working on a campaign I am running.

If it's more than three hours by car, I fly.
