What do you think WotC should be making?

3.5 Forgotten Realms campaign setting.

Before anyone mentions the glorified 3.5 update, the Players Guide to Faerun, I am well aware of that.

I am speaking of a new book, completely up to date to 3.5 perhaps with some new material to boot.
I agree with you on this one.

I would also vote for the linked series of adventures and not the pissy little 32 page ones either. Ones with substance.

hmm...I know this is definitley not going to happen (not in a long time at least) but I'd like a new campaign setting other than Ebberon (it rubs me the wrong way).
More realisticly I'd like Greyhawk.

I'd like a rulebook with advice for running a campaign set in some historical part of Earth, but they'd probably do a crappy job and just make a book with 10 new PRCs, 14 new feats, 1 new core class, 2 new skills and 35 new spells and not really help me out at all in running such a game. ;)

What on earth would you put in it? (Monsters, yes, shut up). Seriously what makes a Fiend Folio different from a Monster Manual?

Well, maybe monsters. :)

To me, a Fiend Folio should be a book of aberrations, oozes, and outsiders. Weird, twisted monsters.

Oh yeah

I'm a big fan of Epic Level stuff as well, and am slightly wierded that so many people treat the system as D&D's red headed step child, even moreso than Psionics.

Here's to a 3.5 ELH!

Well, that's a tough question as I really feel rather well supported.

One thing that they have the capacity to produce that they have failed to is a Planescape Setting 3.5. If they can do a big, pretty Wheel of Time book, AFAIAC they can do the same thing for their setting properties and not break the bank.

OK,

A few people have missed the point. We're looking at sales here so adventures are pretty much right out. We know new settings aren't going to happen even though I agree that a new Greyhawk Campaign Setting book would sell very well. Not just because we grognards would buy it but if done properly it would give newer players a generic setting they can get in on the ground floor with. I don't see the envoronment books being big sellers now so I'm not sure any more of them would sell any better. I think the Creature type books (Draconomicon, Libris Mortis, Lords of Madness) are a definate seller. I think Giant, Devil, and Demon specific books would do very well but I doubt the latter two will be done for political correctness.

I suspect we'll see a lot more full campaign books coming in the next year or two. I also suspect many of these will stink. D20 Future desperately needs a setting but it would have to be really creative to capture an audience and still be generic enough to be widely adopted. Actually, I think they should do a D20 Future II as they definately only scraped the surface with the current edition (I still can't believe they didn't include starship construction rules, boggles my mind).

Anyone think of something else?

DMG III
PH III + IV
MM IV, V, VI, VII, VIII
UA II
FF III

See how ridiculous it gets? This country's addiciton to sequels will never end.

And YET...

The hypocrite inside of me would like to see an expanded Epic book, in addition to a hardcover Greyhawk setting.

Hmm...

1. Adventures - stand-alone or linked. Generic with adaptation data for Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms and Eberron would be ok, but I'd like to see world-specific modules too.

2. A "niche" product describing how to set up a working economy (I'd like it for Forgotten Realms but generic would be just dandy as well) - trade routes, how to set up caravans, cost per mile for land and water travel, expansion of the information in FRCS regarding imports/exports.

3. A "niche" product describing in full detail the physical geography of Forgotten Realms - size of the planet, axial tilt, etc. It would have a full-color climate map with lat/long lines and time zones, and a smaller series of regional topography maps for every region of Toril - including Maztica, Zakhara and Kara-Tur.

4. A working mass combat system that allows for rapid resolution of battles while also allowing for PC/NPC interaction with the masses of soldiers.

5. A new City of Greyhawk set, or decent Greyhawk support in general.

6. 3.5-ized re-issues of 1st/2nd edition adventure modules.
