Apple TV 4K (3rd gen) with Infuse for local streaming.
In closet Nvidia Shield 2019 Pro, Vero V, some random 92X amlogic box.., micro HTPC with e97, NAS with PLEX/Jelyfin

ok.. i a little video nerd

I built a NAS with TrueNAS and use the Jellyfin app to stream media. I never got rid if my DVD collection so I'm in the process of ripping it all to the NAS.

I had a goal of ripping my entire DVD collection to NAS about a decade ago. But then life happened, streaming got better, and the project kinda died after a few hundred DVDs. Good luck. I'd be interested in hearing if you're successful.

My 52’´ Samsung tv with apps, hooked to local cable/internet service. We only stream on the portable computer, in bed, when one of us is sick. We still have a DVD collection we can watch using the CD player.

It's kind of my dream too. (I just want to carry my media on my phone not a NAS.) My biggest stumbling block is that I don't have a bluray drive.

I'm little by little copying my CDs into high sampling wavs though.

When I was living the bachelor life I had a Google TV. I was really into the smart-home garbage at the time and traded my personal information to Google for the ability to do party tricks with my lights, speakers, and TV.

Now that I live with my girlfriend we cut it back to just the RokuTV built into our TCL TV. It's honestly fine for what we use it for. The Roku interface does it's job just fine, and I primarily watch YouTube so I don't need anything fancy.

Someday when I have more disposable income and end up building a better computer I'd like to repurpose my current machine into a home theater PC.
