What do you want to see in D20 Dragonlance?

Personally, I hope they can re-introduce the moon cycles and casting bonuses (and penalties) that the different mages got during those cycles.

I'd also like to see stats on different races. Draconians are a big one, but others like the Death Knights of Krynn, Centaur species, Dragons.. The core book doesn't have to be jammed with monsters (that could be a separate book, actually), but at least have a good deal of the main ones in there.

Lastly, make knights more accessible. I remember one of my players who'd often play knights, but would NEVER attempt to be a Knight of the rose because of the ridiculous experience total needed (Though I imagine that won't be a problem in this edition), as well as the fact that they really got very little in the way of benefits. Perhaps make each 'level' of knight into a prestige class of sorts.

Something I'd like to see, especially in a post-Chaos-War setting, is rules for Draconian characters.

Don Perrin's Draconian stories and novels are some of my favorites.

Wat did I want?

First a DL rules/setting Book
such things as WoOHS, KoS may be even KoT, Steel Legion.
Maybe a varaiant class for the plainstribes, the standard barbarian didn`t fit them IMPOV
A reasonable description of Ansalon, not too detailed, but enough to get an overview.
Special races and monsters of DL, Kender, Tinkergnomes, Draconians etc.

Scaling the magic, Not more than standard D&D(better less)
How would sorcerer anbd Bards fit in with the WoHS, maybe Sorcerers could join, but what is with Bards?
If the Place is there When not Aerea Book 1
Giving the background for WoTL, including heathen priests, how to made a seeker(for a cleric in waiting) or such,
Organsation of the Dragonqueens armies,
Aerea Book 2
Chaos War
Aerea Book 3
War of Souls or

I have to admit that I'm not really a big Dragonlance fan. I ran the entire set of adventures back in the 80s (they were great), but I only read the original novels and never picked up any of the later game books.

So...what's the attraction? Why does Dragonlance rock? I always thought the world was somewhat limited (from what I'd seen of it). What do you do beyond the events described in the books?

I guess the same could be said of adventuring in Middle Earth--what is there to do outside of the books? But I see plenty to do in Middle Earth. What's the attraction of Dragonlance? :D

10 things I would like to see (in no particular order):

1) Cool/appropriate prestige classes, which I'm sure is a given. Knights of Solamnia, Knights of Takhisis, Dragon Highlord, etc. Maybe a few interesting templates like Master of the Tower, Speaker of the Sun, etc.

2) Changes and additions to the core races. Another given, I'm sure.

3) Tweak the magic system. I don't want to see a whole new system, but make spellcasting on Krynn a bit different than the core rules, even if it's just dividing up school access akin to 2e DL Orders and having them affected by the phases of the moons. Certain things might be more easily modified via feats and quirks within prestige classes (or slight changes to core classes) instead of changing the system itself.

4) The default setting is set at the end of the War of the Souls. That being said, there should be options to play in a few other eras, which could be touched upon in the core book, but more fully supported via future sourcebooks (as was suggested by Eryx).

5) Sufficient information on culture, history, geography, sociology, religion, etc. on the the regions of Ansalon. The FR Campaign Setting did a great job with this, so hopefully the DL book can follow in its path.

6) New feats, spells, equipment, and magic items. Another given.

7) New uses for skills.

8) Stats and details on the artifacts of Krynn.

9) Full stats on the famous villains and heroes of Krynn (spanning all ages).

10) Last, but definitely not least, tips/advice on running a successful DragonLance campaign.

what I want ...

1.) Both Ansalon and Taladas

2.) Minotaur PC's ... and not just the DL version of 1/2 orcs either, (come on give them some str??? at least +4, maybe +6)

3.) I want this to be 3e not a new twist on it (ie make DL in 3e not d20 version of DL ... I want DnD in a DL world ... semantics, sorry)

4.) PrC's for Knights, core classes for Crown Night (even if it is simply a fighter with a code and maybe some selected feats)

5.) Wiz/sorc as they are ... maybe make a PrC for Wiz/sorc of high sorcery (that you can take at 3rd/4th lvl).

6.) did I say full taladas support?

7.) back to 5 ... rebuild a tower of high Sorcery :)

8.) um ... up the lvl limit to 20 :-p

9.) draconian stats: (checked off) ... Stats for Kang? (I'd give him 12HD as per the advancement rules and lvl 12 sorc :))

10.) ... Come Out Sooner!!!

What I don't want is new character classes.
The Order Wizard, Knight of Solamnia, Handler and Gnome Tinker can be prestige classes.

What I want is stats for minotaurs, draconians, kender, gully dwarves and tinker gnomes as characters.
Monsters, like the eyewing and numerous others.

Rule for gnomish contraptions, and, of course, new spells, new feats, and new magic items.

Rules, mages, races, I don't care... just place the included setting's timeline firmly in the War of the Lance and the Twins series. Release books for the other ages, but make the core true to the roots of the series and I'll buy a copy for everyone I game with.

I must say even though i like the Sovereign Stone CS and that Weis/Hickman/Elmore made it, I would not buy Dragonlance if it was modeled after it.

If its not DnD 3rd Ed. then you might as well not make it at all.

It seriously needs to be a big arse book like FRCS (or bigger).
The one book should be enough to get everyone well set in a campaign for at least a year BEFORE anything else is needed to play. (but this is my own preference)

ANY race mentioned in the novels needs stats for playable races.
Don't model the 1/2 ogre after the 1/2 orc PLEASE.
The knights need to start off as core classes with attitude.
Not some sissy weeny crap. Not even fighter classes with a code.
They need to be better than fighters, with PrCs in higher orders of the knights.

I don't remember who posted it earlier but I liked the idea of the wizards of high sorcery being a prestige class not a you have to be this or nothing class. This class better not be a guild mage knockoff or any other knockoff from previous PrCs. Except for Archmage. This world should support all other arcane PrCs though. This world of all worlds really should be the epitome of sorcerer derived of dragonblood heritage.

I can't remember any other ideas that I had awhile ago so keep posting.
