What does the word "Vorpal" come from?

If it's in the heart of the city, it's not Trois-Gros' hotel, so it could be Les Terrasses de Lyon, La Tour Rose, or Le Relais Gourmand Pierre Orsi, or maybe Léon de Lyon.

Thanks, Gez!

Looks as if I need to get back to Lyon and dine at each of the restaurants you named :D No question in my mind that the French have the finest wine, cheese, bread, pastries, and desserts, operate the best restaurants. Although Northern Italian cuisine is my favorite, dining in France, or a top-rate French restaurant outside the country, is the best such experience. Now where is that Goldschmidt & Rothschild cognac for a digestif?!

In need of my breakfast,

While we are talking pastries, I find the pastries here in Persia quite delicious. Better than my European experiences. And they buy them by the Kilo!

Of course with the present regime, you'd be hard pressed finding that Goldschmidt & Rothschild cognac...

Now I am wondering about Iranian pastries, wishing I could sample some... Had Omar Khyyam had his way, though both wine and cognac would be purveyed there, though, right?

Instead of potions alone, in the LA game I have included a number of magical "ambrosias" and other foods to consume for special effects. A DM could easily to the same by changing potions for interesting solid foods that have the same effect.

Cheers,
Gary

Indeed, the Shiraz grape was grown near the city of... Shiraz! The home of Hafez the Poet, whose poems of wine, and women are still revered by all Persians. Every Iranian home should have two things: A Quran, and the works of Hafez. Now there is a nice Australian wine that bears the name of the city (shameless advert for home produce). I had a most inspiring visit to the fantastic Persian palace of Persepolis three weeks ago, and prior to the disastrous earthquake, the magnificient citadel at Bam (We avoided the earthquake by some three weeks). Truly an experience straight from a Persian fable.

I consider myself fortunate to have an opportunity to work here, even if it means the postponing of my regular campaign. There is yet more for me to discover in this ancient country!
