What DVD to watch first Tuesday?

Just cuz he calls them "definitive" doesn't make them better. Does the name George Lucas mean anything to you?

(Dodges the incoming, "Are you comparing Peter Jackson to George Lucas" hatred...)

I definitely have preferred the extended versions, definitive or not. The theatrical releases have been great, but the extended even better.
George who? Oh, is that the guy that added a bunch of junk to his already completed movies, just to resell them? :)

I just thought it was interesting that you call the extended versions the "REAL" versions. No offense intended.

I hope you're not too disappointed in Bubba Ho-Tep - I actually got to see it in a theater and, well, a movie could never live up to that premise. Great idea, great actors, solid director--and a big "feh" from me.

Which is reallly to bad, because I expected great things--especially
after the scene with the iron lung
.
Thanks for the warning, Barendd - I'll keep it in mind.

Aww. That's too bad. I sincerely hope you're wrong on this.

The difference between Jackson and Lucas is PJ has planned to do the extended edtions from early one, unlike Lucas.

I'll pick up Underworld Unrated as soon as possible. Not going to touch the rest. Still waiting on the Ultra-Mega Extended Lord of the Rings Trilogy Boxed Set. :D

I'm not trying to bash here, but what, exactly, is the draw to this movie? I rented it after seeing a lot of positive comments on here, but I thought it was awful. So I'm just wondering what everyone else is seeing that I'm not. I mean, in my opinion, the story was weak, the writing was bad, the acting was poor, and the special effects were mediocre at best. What else is there? Is it the girl? Do you guys just like the girl or something? If that's it, fine. I'm just curious.

There are other movies besides LotR??? :D

While I much prefer the EE versions, I'm not going to wait that long. Buying Return tomorrow, watching it tomorrow evening. (wish I could watch it at work :heh: )

Actually, I've never seen it myself. Basically, I enjoy a good mindless action flick once in a while. The Matrix films, the new Mummy films... they're just popcorn flicks with lots of pulp-style combat. Sometimes, I want to take a break from the other films I have, and just pop in a crazy martial-arts flick with no real point besides the combat.

From everything I've heard, Underworld won't disappoint in that regard. ;)
