I feel like dragonborn are like anti-teiflings.It's true, Dragonborn seem like lizardmen with breath weapons.
Speaking of the half-dragon thing, I solved this in my settings mostly by not making dragons the weird twilight between animal and person D&D portrays them as.
They can absolutely be bad "for reasons". It's bad "for no reason (other than perhaps their dark skin)" that is out of fashion, and rightly so.

glass.
It is the most fun though. Are we forgetting that Fizban's offered like 6 diff ways Half-Dragons can be born? Seriously, in canon now, just living near a dragon or a DRAGON GRAVE can turn you into one. You don't need sex to produce half-dragons.
there can always be a little order in chaos.I prefer the swinginess. If rolls only have faux-swing, then we might as well not have dice rolls at all.

Have you never run Tomb of Hormones?Except maybe sex on a dragon grave.
