What is Amazon’s beef with DCC?

Yes. My understanding was that Texas was considering restrictions on what residents can see on the internet. This may be a manifestation of that.
There are some 'restrictions' of some sort for certain online speech in Texas, but I don't think this has anything to do with them.
I'm in Texas and never saw the notice in the OP on that DCC book, or any other Amazon product*, for that matter.

* I just did a couple test searches, and - HOLY MACKEREL!! - no notices pop up. And now I need to rinse out my history. Brb.

the message is pretty stubborn for me. It shows up in different browsers when I am not logged in. But it only shows up on the paperback addition (which is on sale right now.) I have an AT&T fiber provided IP address so I don’t think it’s filtering me on being in Houston.
