What is Desert of Desolation and what to expect for figures?

I am curious about what to expect in the next set of figures for DDM. Knowing it is called Desert of Desolation and that it was an existing adventure I looked it up and found.... little of use.

What I learned.....

Released in 1987

Forgotten Realms adventure

The Hicks couple had a hand in designing it

3 parts "expanded" mini adventure

That's it.

So.... has anyone ever played it or run it? What creatures are in it? What of these creatures could be in the next set?

There could be a mounted pegasi, as the DoD had some pegasai flying dervishes, IIRC

There's supposed to be more mounted dudes, and or special mount rules.

Sandy stuff: ashworms?

I remember a sun-bathing bronze dragon and one of them boats made of hay. I guess another mummy isn't too far fetched. And Elminster, he's in it, huh?

Well that stinks - I'll probably have my current desert adventure rapped up by the time these roll out.

I'd suspect the set will have some kind of scorpions, the races that appear in Sandstorm, a mummy or two, and some desert-y looking heroes.

My memory on the subject is a bit hazy but for some reason I thought the original adventures (part of the I series) were not set in the Forgotten Realms but that this happened when it was released again a single book instead of 3. Oh well anyways I do recall liking the adventures but never having a group complete the trilogy.

There could be some cool rare minis like a Pasha Efreeti, and a Djinn Vzier which were significantly more powerful that the base creature if I recall right. They were supposed to be unique named creatures. Its been way too long I can't really think of any others off the top of my head.

When they announced this set at the WotC distributor conference, they commented that it had the "coolest hook ever" for a DDM set. They wouldn't tell us any more at the time, and I haven't heard another word about what this cool hook will be. But I'm looking forward to finding out!
