What is the best party level to have a TPK?

I don't recall exactly how many characters we marched to their death before finally taking down those trolls, but I'm pretty sure it was in the 30+ range. The room was piled high with our dead and stacked at the door. Ah happy memories.

Sounds like Contact's ToEE story-hour.

Bloodiest I've got was 5 dead pcs in one session, 2 players lost 2 characters that night.

The best level for the campaign to have to completely restart because all the characters are dead and the storyline suffers a total breakdown?

1st, so there is a minimum amount of time invested in a campaign that just went in the toilet.

any level is a good level for a TPK.

as each level is unique. each level adds depth to the character.

whether it bolsters overconfidence or pushes the party to try new challenging things.
