I believe I saw a DDM fig that looks like a Dementor (from Harry Potter) - wiht long claws.

Anybody know the name and what set it is from?

There's the Boneclaw from the Deathknell set that sounds a bit like what you're looking for. You could also use the Shadow or the Dread Wraith from Night Below.

Sounds like; Night Below Shadow 60/60 Uncommon

Yup- Shadow figure 60 of the newest set. Uncommon I believe so it shouldn't be too hard to get.
Actually it seems to be the new 'stirge'. The secondary market's asking price for it is fairly high for an uncommon.

In person, the thing has a big mold line on the head/shoulder area.

Frank beat me to it. Some uncommons are particularly sought-after, and can get almost as expensive as rares. Because of the distribution of uncommons in huge packs, stirges were stupid rare and doubly popular. Prices on those guys are bananas. I'm glad I picked up a bunch on the secondary market before the market reached a high equilibrium.

I never managed to find shadows at a price that I was willing to pay for multiples, unfortunately.

Not sure if I like the shadow figure either. I used to use a black foam cutout that worked well. My game group had no idea this was a shadow until the attacks began......
