What is the most damage that a character could do in 1 hit against an AC 80+?

Well, if you have a +80 longsword that deals an additional 250d6 points of sonic damage, then your maximum would be at least 1,588 points of damage (1,604 if you crit), assuming you have a strength of 10, of course. :p

That's correct. Zen Archery states "the character can use her Wisdom modifier instead of her Dexterity modifier when making a ranged attack at a target within 30 feet."

However, if you are a 6th level OoBI who already has the Zen Archery feat, you add your Wis modifier as well as your Dex modifier, instead of replacing it. (S&F, page 32 and 33)

I love the order of the initiate of the bow. That will be tough to beat, no matter who it is...just change out the arrow with an greater keen arrow of slaying +5, and you get a very similar picture.

I thought the cleric thread from earlier was onto something... (Clr 18/Bar 1/Frenzied Bar 1)

Div Might: +20
True Strike: +20 (from Miracle)
Str: Base 20+4(book)+18 from strength domain item+5 levels+4 Rage+6 Frenzy+4 Righteous Might=61, therefore net= +24
GMW: +5
Charge: +2 circumstance
Divine Favor: +5 luck
Bless: +1 morale (don't have PH here, what's highest morale bonus from spell?)
That totals to +77 for one charging attack. We will of course have taken the Power Lunge Feat, which doubles stength damage on a charge. We're two handed wielding the beefiest size HUGE weapon we can, and we'll assume we'll discount crits for this purpose. We'll assume he doesn't have much in the way of resistance, so the weapon will Holy, Sonic, and Lightning as well (+4d6).

16(base)from 2d8 weapon+48(str)+5 luck+5 magic+24(from holy, sonic, and lightning)=98 damage.

: )

I'm sure you find a way to trump slightly, but following the same model, maxing out the base strength (this model is based on 30 Str from base, item, and book) with polymorphing and ensure 100% to hit with even more base damage and power attack bonuses.

Without offensive spells?

Okay, I'm a Human Ftr6/Wiz11/WeaponMaster3 with an Exotic Weapon Proficiency Weapon Focus, and Improved Critical in Mercurial Greatsword in Mercurial Greatsword. Str 32 (18 natural, +4 levels, +4 inherent), Dex 14, Con 10, Int 16 (15 natural, +1 levels), Wis 8, Cha 8. I have a Mercurial Greatsword and the Antimagic Field spell.

Round 1: Cast Antimagic Field.

Round 2: Attack. Threat? Confirm! Increased Multiplier!! Damage? Maximum!!!

Super-Duper AC Man takes 140 damage! (That's massive damage! What? Failed the save? TERMINATED!)

Save DC for massive damage is only 15

Wiz1/Ftr10/Order of the Initiate of the Bow9 (elven)

So a Fort save DC78 or die.
Bye bye AC man...

Regarding equipment: Easy. Three books of wish sufficient to raise Str/Dex/Wis are only around 400k.
Coup de Grace Arrow (1): Very cheap

Save DC for massive damage is only 15 where do you get the save DC for 78 or die?

I doubt there is a magic arrow out there that has a DC of 78 and its cheap!!!

I've got to say I'm loving this thread. :D

And for the record, hitting AC 80 isn't a big deal. But Super-Duper AC Man has an AC of 201... Maybe my next project will be trying to come up with a character that can hit Super-Duper AC Man without requiring a natural 20...

He explained it:

But of course the arrows are coup de grace arrows from PsiHB.
I.e., the DC depends on the damage (see CDG rules, Player's Handbook, for details).

You are going to have a far more balanced character with a 60-80 AC than one at 100+

Not very many combonations can come up with a +60 to hit.

Once you get to 80 AC everyone is going to be power attacking you anyway, so whats the diff? A natural 20 is the only way to hit then, unlss you got true strike every hit!
