What is the most overlooked rule in dnd?

I am sure the group and DM understands that even though you have a troll and a dwarf in the group, you will NEVER just walk off without him. The group will usually wait for teh slow ones or slow down to kepe the group together.

Or am i assuming too much?
No, I would assume the same thing, adn set the distance/day based on the slowest party member. AND, If we stick the hobbits in backpacks, better hope the carrier has a good STR score for encumbrance and all that buisness ;)

Most overlooked? Encumbrance is #1, easily. Upkeep is #2 (mostly as regards food/water usage rather than minor purchases). "The rules are not graven in stone," #3 (which, curiously enough, would helpfully extend to render moot many of the more easily forgotten or intentionally ignored rules being listed. :))

"To cast a spell, you must be able to speak (if the spell has a verbal component), gesture (if it has a somatic component), and manipulate the material components or focus (if any). Additionally, you must concentrate to cast a spell—and it’s hard to concentrate in the
head of battle. (See below for details.) "

I found that quote, but what does it mean to manipulate the focus component? Suppose you cast a verbal and focus component only spell. I presume you only need one hand free to manipulate the focus. But suppose we toss somatics into the equation. Do we need two hands, one to manipulate the focus and one to gesture the somatic components? Or can both of these things be done with the same hand?

The fact that heal spells no longer work on unconscious Monks once they receive their spell resistance and they work only with great cooperation on conscious ones.

I think we can all agree that the hand that is "free" to cast as spell can also be the one manipulating the material component or focus (i.e. a cleric can have a club in one hand and a holy symbol in the other and use the hand with the holy symbol to cast).

You may draw a weapon as part of a move action if, and only if, you have a base attack bonus of +1 of greater.
If your movement speed is less than 30', you take a -4 on Jump checks.

Not getting a full attack after moving.

If you move, you only get a single attack, barring special abilities or feats that overrule that...

The most often overlooked rule that I experience is how many actions are in a round. Seems that people always want to do far too many things in the time provided.

I have usually only seen this with inexperienced people, or complete expletives. Normal players may occasionally slip up, but they don't try it every round like the few I've seen.
