What is the original source for this awesome Lockwood painting?

Sweet!!!

I saw this picture over at Gamespy during their 30th Anniversary special for D&D. Due to the large size of the picture, I'll be posting a link to it rather than the actual image:

D&D 30th Anniversary commissioned artwork "Bar Fight"

I knew that it was a Lockwood piece right away because of the style, and I instantly fell in love with it (I'm currently using it as my desktop wallpaper). Does anybody know what book/magazine/whatever this painting originally came from?

Thanks Dark Jezter,

It's now my wallpaper too.

I like the backdrop - a throwback to the old DMG...
Small correction... the backdrop is from the old 1st edition Players Handbook... ;)

But yes, indeed, a great picture, and its excellent to see a new piece of art paying homage to a work from the good old days.

Ironically, it became my wallpaper today, too. :)

My second-favorite parts were

(a) the map on the table that they are inspecting in the bottom left corner is no less than the Tomb of Horrors.

(b) the salt-and-pepper bearded gent inspecting it looks uncannily like our very own Teflon Billy, who posts to these forums.

Do any of you recognize the map at which the thieves are looking on the table?

EDIT: Curse you Henry! You posted just moments before my question. Nonetheless, you are correct sir. I must say, the map was the first thing I noticed in the painting, a beautiful thing indeed.

That half-elf (full elf?) sorceress looks like she does a lot of sit-ups; great abs. ;)

I didn't notice that the map was the Tomb of Horrors. Nice touch!

I'll stick with my Hong Kong wall paper, thanks. But I could see another d20 Modern/Urban Arcana adventure in that little painting.

Favourite things of mine in the picture:

the Illithid is eating a brain
the vampire and his mug o'blood
the statute at the back is a homage to the 1st edition DM's guide
the bard at top right is casually leaning his arm on a red dragon
the kobolds sneaking up on Redgar from middle left
the crossbow bolt bottom right going past the neck

Didn't catch that! Hehe! This is a great picture...gets me re-motivated to continue forcing myself to at least get a basic understanding of figure drawing. Argh...hard work...
