Uh... wouldn't a sai be more akin to a short sword or dagger?
You're absolutely right. I was thinking of a yari, but doing this out of my head without checking.

Most of them overwhelm by force of personality not doing complex math.CHA is force of personality, INT is your brainpower, and psions and psychics don't fuel their powers by being charming
we do complex math to walk yet we never know it, regardless we have too many cha casters so it is off the table simply to niche partition. Most of them overwhelm by force of personality not doing complex math.
Nah. It's off the table because the Aberrant Mind is almost certainly the most played version of the psion in D&D history by a comfortable margin (both being in the most popular version of D&D and in something much closer to the core rather than a psionics specific splatbook, and being far the best version of the sorcerer in 5e) - and will only pull further ahead when it joins the PHB later this year. But this has to compete with the Aberrant Mind (and new GOOlock) and you don't compete with an official option by doing things the same way.we do complex math to walk yet we never know it, regardless we have too many cha casters so it is off the table simply to niche partition.
And this desire is only emphasised by Dex being the God-stat in 5e.But there is always a desire to make fencers, light brawlers, and dual wielders.
EK, Bladesinger, Valor, Swords, Pact of the Blade, and probably at least one more "caster with a sword" option I'm forgetting, would beg to differ.and you don't compete with an official option by doing things the same way.
And none of those do things the same way.EK, Bladesinger, Valor, Swords, Pact of the Blade, and probably at least one more "caster with a sword" option I'm forgetting, would beg to differ.
WotC isn't homebrewing. This is people at home.WotC is absolutely happy to "compete with an official option" by doing essentially the same things in nigh-indistinguishable ways.
And this desire is only emphasised by Dex being the God-stat in 5e.
do you have a source to back up said speculations also why do people play something matters, champion fighter is common because it is free to use and easy for new players not because it is inherently the best option.Nah. yeah and they never quite get it as sometimes you just have to make a whole class to do a concept right as once it works it works.EK, Bladesinger, Valor, Swords, Pact of the Blade, and probably at least one more "caster with a sword" option I'm forgetting, would beg to differ.

dex needs to be reduced as the god stat so things work better. And this desire is only emphasised by Dex being the God-stat in 5e.
