What is the Swordmage role? who is martial controller?

Closest thing to a Martial Controller is the Archery Ranger. I sort of wish they'd worked out class names and divided the Ranger into two classes.

Though the beast form druid powers could give a ponter too how to do a Martial controller.

WOTC has said that we shouldn't expect a 1:1 relation between classes and the source/role grid, pointing at the martial striker as the example of a source/role that has multiple classes filling the slot, and the martial controller as one that might not get any.

The Swordmage is an Arcane Defender, and there is no Martial Controller yet.

I still think that a Martial Controller is possible. If nothing else, a more aggressive cousin to the Warlord, a charismatic and frightening warrior trained to terrify his enemies and break their will to fight, would work pretty well as a Controller. Fear Auras, Kiai Shouts, blows that strike fear into anyone that sees it connect, etc. Such a class is on my short list of ideas for what a Samurai class might look like, actually. Alternatively, I think a dedicated mounted soldier class may work as a Controller.

Well, I think the terrifying kiai shouts would work more into the Ki Power Source.

But working a mounted soldier into a controller would be interesting.

It's just important to recognize that each class role is engineered with both a strength and a dependency.

As far as we know that breakdown for the controller is:

Strength - cheap area attacks/gets to roll a lot of attack rolls.
Dependency - needs a front line

So if you can make a Cavalier class that has low capacity for stickiness and a real vulnerability to getting swarmed then I am on-board for martial controller status.
