What is your cut off point for MSRP?

So the new minis are something like $14.99 per 8.

I know that there are some good discounts out there.

However, what is your cut off point?

I must say, after Unhallowed, I'm seriously looking at only going with secondary market.

There were some nice figures there, but a lot of my $$ went toward buying minis I have absolutely no use for. I don't think I want to do random anymore.

What i hate is getting a case of boosters and a bunch of damn humanoid characters. I don't need or want 5 tiefling thieves. I don't care about having 7 mediocre elven soldiers. This last set sort of burned me. The good ones are really desirable (beholder, ogre, displacer beast) but did i get any of those randomly? Nope, had to buy em off ebay.

for Minis...I have no clue as I have been buying individual ones for years...no plastic junk for me.

Now my MSRP for books...is probably over $100 but less that $200. I say that because I have a few high $$ books that I throughly enough. Ptolus being one of them.

If you are talking about the DDMs well I haven't hit it yet.
Even randomized they are still cheaper to me then the alternatives of painting metal minis.
Yeah sometimes I get several of the same common but I sell or trade these for ones I want or give them to my boys to play with.
I really like having minis to go with my game. So until they are outrageous I will keep getting them.
Now I am keeping an eye on what Reaper is going to do and may use theirs to supplement the creatures I want.

I work part-time for Barnes & Noble and with 30% off year round and 40% twice year I haven't hit a breaking point yet. I both enjoy and hate the randomness. When I'm down a box or 3 of minis can really get me excited...

For Minis?
Nil, since I never got into the plati-crack craze.

For books?
$50 limit per book as a general rule. (Though I start to really analyze after the $30- $35 mark.)

I have made some expecptions (WLD, RAR), but they are genereally few and far between.

Judging from the responses, DDM must be the least successful incarnation of D&D ever. Only a couple of us have bought miniatures in 3 years! I would never know things like this if it weren't for EN World. Truly its collective finger is trained on the pulse of the industry.

A case cost me 106 with free shipping. $8.80 a pack or so. A little over a buck a figure. Thats worth it to me, provided I can use the majority of the set, which was the case with Blood Wars and Unhallowed (though Blood Wars moreso). Retail is a rip off now. The average rare price is what, 7-8 dollars on ebay? You arent going to get 7 bucks worth of commons/uncommons to offset the difference. If you want a beholder, you're a sucker to buy packs at 15 dollars each instead of buying one in a BIN auction for 22 dollars. Unless you have x-ray eyes or something. And that's the highest priced figure out there.
