Laughing is better than yawning. And people getting eaten by lizards is better than dull fight scenes. But hey, to each their own.

Dunno how you saw it but seeing it in Cantonese with Japanese subtitles (neither reading nor speaking either language) may have helped a great deal. ;)

And even though it wasn't a movie it was still better than parts 2 & 3 and equal to the 1st.

Nope.

Matriculated was the weakest of the short films however.

It's not weak, it's just plain bad.

(Neo vs. the 3 agents at the beginning of Reloaded - about as much tension as a wet blanket).

I like that one, much too short.

Why does it have to have tension? Besides it does one important thing, show how Neo has grown in power from the first movie.

That's a great reason to vote for something
:\

No, it's not. Doesn't stop people to often though does it?

Anyway. like I said I couldn't really decide and the other option was rolling a die, is that any better?

I voted for reloaded, because after seeing it, I believed the third and final one would be brilliant. However, the third is deceiving. Although visually incredible, the story is really poor.

Now what I expected to see revealed in the third movie, didn't happen, yet I still think there are many clues indicating that I may be right : Even when they are outside the Matrix, people are still in it. Just let say that they are in another level, another part of it, but they are still in the matrix. I just find otherwise ridiculous that Neo can affect machines by force of will outside the matrix, and that an agent can go into a living being outside the Matrix. Then, look at the end, how Trinity dies: with all those things inside he body she should be writhing in pain and agony (much more than when she got a bullet in second film), but she instead peacefully discuss things with Neo before dying. Then, all those hurting things are artistically pinning her body instead of randomly eviscerating her, that I find strange. Plus other such kind of details everywhere (example: people who connect to the Matrix get a metallic stuff fully in their neck while it is twice as long as the human neck is thick...).

Well, maybe you don't agre with my suspicions?...

Nope, it's sounds like you're in denial. Some of that's stuff is just standard hollywood nonsense (e.g. trinity's death, how often in a movie have you seen someone get fatally wounded and hang on until another major character gets there only to tragically die seconds later?).

As for the neck plugs, I just watched The Matrix again and the spikes are noticeably absent.

Man, look at the pole. Ouch to you second and third films.

For me, if the whole trilogy thing worked better, the latter movies might've scored higher but in essence, good special effects != good movie.

that's what i was thinking. didn't Morpheus say in the first movie that everyone who had ever stood up to an Agent had died? didn't everyone used to run from Agents?

in the sequels, both Trinity and Morpheus kicked butt against Agents. i thought one of the major points of the first movie was that only Neo would be able to do that.

I didn't think that Trinity or Morpheus 'kicked butt' against the Agents so much, as they just weren't SCARED of them. It seemed like, "Oh, well. I guess I'll have to fight an Agent now... At least I'm wearing my shades..." Morpheus, Trinity, and Neo all kind of have this detached too-cool-for-school attitude that seems to come off more like Mr. Spock than genuine coolness, you know? The fights would've meant more if the characters would've actually shown a bit of emotion. I expect the Agents to be a bit robotic, but Morpheus? I thought the guy was supposed to be full of passion--but in Reloaded he's a Vulcan in a trenchcoat.

ahh the Matrix.. I voted for the thrid movie. Why you ask.. because i am one of the few that thought that it totally kicked arse. I thought that it was one of the more entertaining movies I have seen. I did not like the first movie half as much as the two after it. I have not seen the animatrix..

But sometimes i flow away from the crowd on movie opinions. I hated Gladiator.

I wouldn't say they weren't scared so much as they were on a mission and would do what was necessary to accomplish it and there was no time being scared, and Trinity at least did show concern if not a little fear before they went on the freeway and when the elevator door opened and Agent Johnson was standing on there.

You're not remotely unique on that one.
