What is your favorite new race?

I really have a soft spot for Warforged. They are my favourite non-standard player race.

Love the Warforged, so much potential and the chapter on them on RoE is amazing.

Like Shifters too, but I also am a Werewolf fan, so there, don't mind the Goliaths either.

Kalashtar are great, but they seem very Stargate to me (Inspired = Goa'Uld, Empty Vessels are the Jaffa and Kalashtar are the Tok'Ra.) Not that I'm complaining.

I haven't even heard of any of these races except the Warforged, which are kinda hard to miss hearing about...

I like warforged because they fit the setting and playing droids is fun

but overall I agree Crothian

oh and do Goblins count if I use them as a PC race - goblins are kewl

Killoren are a fey race - well fleshed-out, culturally speaking, in Races of the Wild - with an interesting racial trait. Once per day they choose to manifest one of three aspects of their connection to nature, which lasts for the whole day. Each aspect causes overt changes to the colouration of the character's hair and eyes - presumably someone familiar with the race could identify which aspect they are manifesting at a glance.

They're pretty cool.

Other as in none. I've not seen a new race that was not just a new set of numbers.

Okay, I also voted 'other as in none'. Races are a D&D concept that does not really give me much. Often it's just a simple cultural trait or one ability that is behind the invention of a new race. Most of the races that I see just provoke an "Oh, another [insert standard race like orc, elf, ogre, golem, lizardman, etc. here]!" with me.

I still like some of the ideas behind the Gensai, but after seeing Sandstorm, I'd almost always opt for a half-jennie instead, even with the +3 racial modifier.
