What is your martial weapon of choice?

I'd have to say a warhammer is my fav weapon. Mainly because I cannot think of anything out there immune or resistant to bludgeoning damage. I'm sure there is something out there, but, like I said, I can't think of anything.

The longspear is a classic. Reach weapon, lightweight, and the double damage vs charging can be nasty especially when followed by a movement AoO.

Other than that, the greatclub because it's stylish, the greatsword because it's the most efficient at just dealing no-frills damage (although the weight is clearly wrong...,) and the light flail (bludgeoning damage, like a longsword with 'free' trip and disarm ability thrown in.)

Strange Choices

I love whips. They toatally kick. Only problem is they do subdual damage unless you prestige to a lasher, which may or maynot be an option.

I've always been fond of the Short Sword, maybe just to be orginal. Most of my characters always have a short sword.

Flachions are cool, butthere should be a way to use them one handed, maybe like and exotic weapon prof.

Bows are really neat, but not for every character, I perfer the bow for my ranger characters.

Even though it is not Marital, one of the best weapons of them all is the covered hand crossbow. To bad it does 1d4 damage.

Most of the time a use a large-ish sword, usually a Bastard Sword or Great Sword, but the Heavy Flail is sick. Take one out with Expertise, Improved Trip, and Improved Disarm and watch people go flying one way and their weapons another.

Martial Weapons

My favorite is easy -- it's what fits the character best. ;)

Seriously, though, my favorite weapons are the Greataxe and the Scythe.

You have to love 2H'ers with big damage and huge critical hits. It's a beautiful thing.

Anything that my monk can used to get his unarmed attack bonus.
^_^

Actually, I was always a big fan of the quarterstaff/stick. But if I could choose non-WOTC supplements, I'd go with the meteor hammer from Arms & Armor (think jackie Chan with the horseshoe in Shanghai noon)
