What Kind of Books…

Question: Has anyone done a book based on medieval Russia or Eastern Europe? I'm asking more out of curiosity than anything (I'm doing graduate work in Russian history).
Iron Kingdoms has a Prussian feel to it, maybe it is just the art. ;)

Previously I started a thread for what kinds of books people would like to see and/or purchases that have not been covered or only poorly covered. The consensus seemed to be the following subjects have not been adequately covered in the market.

• Terrains (desert, artic, mountain, etc)
• Do It Your Self Guides (for creating spells, monsters, adventures)
• East Indian Setting
• Native American Setting

Has anything been left out?

On a related note, what kind of books do you think you will buy next for your game?
Arabian setting, even before any other setting!

While terrain setting are nice I would be more interested in fantasy ecology in terrain, just building the cycle of life of a terrian in a fantasy world.

Modular campaign settings.

A single city, village, inn, castle, manor, nation, organization, or whatever. Each one highly detailed and ready to plop down in any setting. I can't imagine anything more useful for a DM running things on the fly.

(This isn't my idea; someone mentioned it on these boards earlier--but its such an amazing idea that I thought it bore repeating)

Another thing that we really haven't seen is a book on role playing. There was a great PDF that had info on role playing but I'm not sure it was widely known about though I gave it a great review (Dice and Dramatics by Ultramyth Design). I'd also like to see a book that covers non combat XP awards. This is really one of the truely lacking areas in the game.

Something to look forward to

Setting :
- Nordic and Viking Setting - which could include neighbouring historical cultures like the finnish people, arctic natives and perhaps the Russians (which would tie in nicely with the peeps asking for a Russia setting ). Voyages of exploration in in-hospitable seas, harsh weather, the lands of the gods only a rainbow away...

- Arabic /Desert setting, be it a rehash of the wonderful Al-Qadim or something simply set in detailed desert wastelands - even something like "Dune". Rules for climate, environment and effects on everyday life and society.

- Indonesian Archipelagoe inspired setting on pirate-tribes and sea-nomad cultures in a region of hundreds and thousand of islands, definitely not down the swashbuckling road.

Sourcebooks
- Books on "intensive preparation" items like cities (who has the time to do them properly anymore ?), towns or even a large trade-fair/tribal meeting. description of trade routes and locations along them. Ready to run trading costers and guilds.

Er, that would be Hârn or HârnWorld as it is now known. Completely systemless and available for over 25 years. As an example, check out http://www.columbiagames.com/cgi-bin/query/cfg/zoom.cfg?product_id=5684 and http://www.columbiagames.com/cgi-bin/query/cfg/zoom.cfg?product_id=5660 to name but two.
