Anyway, I can't believe this thread is getting half as many replies as the one about annoyances.
So here goes:
Players who enjoy the game and let me know that.
Players who say thank you.
Players who bring a friendly atmosphere to the table and make no one uncomfortable.
Players who are comfortable enough to come talk to me (outside the game) when something isn’t working for them.
Players who will make a character that fits smoothly into the campaign and group.
Players who enjoy teamwork in a game.
Players who pay attention and are ready to act when it’s their turn in combat.
Players who pay attention when it’s someone else’s turn in the spotlight.
Players who pay attention and will remember NPCs or events, even from way back.
Players who help the world come alive by the way they interact with it.
Players who help the world come alive by the way they change it.
Players who help the world come alive by having their own personal fund of memories about memorable past events.
Players who can sometimes have fun stopping and lapsing into PC interaction about some small thing or other, giving me chance to sit back and enjoy what they are creating.
Players who will think about the game between the end of one session and the beginning of the next.
Players who aren’t shy to develop long-term goals for their characters.
Players who enjoy the game enough to write story hours.
Players I can feel comfortable about reminding of a rule in their favour because I know they’ll occasionally do the same for me.
The list goes on. Or could, but I’ll stop now. Work calling and all that.
In fact, not quite. Just one more.
Players who will remember to top up my mug, and players who will go and make fresh tea.
