What monsters should be in a sequel to Tome of Horrors?

quicklings, grippli, and decapus are in there already you sillies! ;)

i personally have converted a number of plants, fey, and prehistoric mammals - i would hope to see them in a sequel, very much. :) check out the Creature Catalog for such things, plus many (but not most) of the things mentioned above (too tired to address everything on this thread...)

  • Aranea are in the MM, but araneas from Mystara (Red Steel/Savage Coast) were seriously weaker. An ECL 0 version of them, maybe ?
  • Quickling ? ToH
  • Grippli ? ToH
  • Formian Queen ? That's in the MM, unless you meant unique creatures like lawful equivalent of slaad lords.
  • Variant Displacer Beast ? Shameless Plug, and there is the Kamadan in the ToH
  • Variant Mind Flayer ? Between the Possessors, the Voiceless Ones (coming from Paradigm), and the Cephalyx/Mind Rapers from Privateer's Monsternomicon, reprinting one of those d20 creatures may be more appropriate than creating yet one again.
  • Variant Beholder ? Same comment as right above, although I would somewhat like to see the Tyrant put back into Eye Tyrant, and see a variant that would combine both the Eyes and the Flayers in one freaking monstruosity...
  • Chevall ? Couldn't they be made by bending the rules a little and applying the Therianthrope template on a centaur ?
  • Decapus ? ToH

My Own List :
  • Amber Dragon
  • Moonstone Dragon
  • Yellow Dragon (the fiery-sand-breathing, desert-dwelling version). It has already been converted, I'd like to see it in print.
  • More Dragonets. The Crow's Nest Dragon (Dragon Mag #272), the Kodragon (Dragonlance MC2)
  • Magens from Mystara. They're cool.
  • Lupins & Rakasta. Maybe Cayman, Hutaakan and Tortle as well.
  • Since we need Mind Flayer replacement, the Neh-Thalggu (Brain Collectors) could be adequately reprinted.
  • Witchlights !
  • The Equaar. Cool planar mounts for everyone !
  • Comet Steed
  • Hatori
  • Kyrie (DL MC2) could serve as OGC Aarakocra.
  • Law & Chaos Elementals, maybe Fundamentals.
  • Some more lycanthrope template. Wereswine...
  • Living Statues
  • Tabi
  • Nonafel: Another possible replacement for Displacer Beast.
  • Kirre: Same comment as above
  • Lamia Noble (By the way, since the template may only be applied on Lamia, wouldn't it be better to make it a base creature rather than a template ?)
  • Galltrit
  • Aleax
  • Copper & Silver Horrors ? Only the four superior types are in the MM2. Personally, I think they complement well the clockworks from the ToH.
  • Crypt Cat
  • Faery Cat, or Cath Shee
  • Marl: Sortoff Yuan-ti replacement
  • Dracosphinx
  • Dracon
  • Krakentua
  • Tagster and Tigone psionic cats (Dark Sun MC)
  • Cistern Fiend
  • Urd (But they should have the Kobold subtype, as they are a kobold subrace)
  • Aasimon: Agathinon & Light
  • Guardinal, Equinal & Ursinal
  • Archon: Sword, Throne, Tome, Warden. Hey, have you constated that the Warden Archon has a CreatureID of 666 ? Mmmh...
  • Hordling
  • Molydeus Demon
  • Wastrilith
  • Larva

If possible, versions of some of the setting-specific creatures, like the sand giants and sand dragon from Zakhara. If that's not possible, due to some legal entanglements, then definately the Lamia Noble and Rakasta.

If they haven't been covered already for 3E, I'd like to see more monsters from literature such as the Jabberwocky (which was done for 2E).

gez, i'm sure you know several of those have been converted already, and are available on the Creature Calalogue. :) that said, i'll lobby to get 'em in a new book, when i get my chance. :)

WotC Modrons aren't OGC. I want an OGC source.

They have been removed, even from the creature crypt. Maybe because they are available on-line, and in their exact same form (as you may know, the Modrons from the WE are made by Scott Greene).
