What musical instruments do you play/own?

Hmmm... gamers as musicians. I've thought it before, but among my players I've found only one... and she's a sheerly unparalleled vocalist. Needless to say, I plan to marry her soon.

I am a musician. I picked up the guitar and bass in high school after countless years on a violin (with which I was once quite good, but can now only screech and squawk), and have been playin' for about 10 years. My main axe is a Strat with a humbucker at the bridge, and I play through a Peavey Two-Twelve classic tube amp, a sound I've never grown weary of. I also own a vintage Electra hollow-body electric... kinda completes my sound.

I also own several acoustics and a beautiful 22-string harp I am slowly learning to play. I've always maintained that I can play pretty much anything with strings, if I just get the chance to work with it for a while. For my next project... I'd like to get my hands on a hammered dulcimer.

My roots are a heavy combination of metal and blues, but I jam occasionally with a local oldies/classic rock band, sometimes on guitar, sometimes bass (5-string Yamaha... and Hartke rules!). I've got one CD under my belt, with Dangerous Dan Kelly and the Blues Junkies (haven't heard of us... go figure:D ), and make a regular habit of writing rock and blues songs that nobody'll probably ever hear. I was with a band just out of high school... and we were very good... but that's another sad story.

In any case... D&D was a heavy part of my life before I ever picked up the guitar. And it's always been there for me. Maybe my players aren't musicians, but good roleplaying has its own brand of magic.
