D&D 5E What new classes do you think we need?

For my part:
Psion/Mystic: I would have liked to have the ''inner source, mind over matter'' users under the same class with monk, ardent (empath) and psion as archetype. To me psion could be a monk with Mind thrust using the unarmed damage chart, charming/dominating trought Ki points. If only monk had not all those damned kung-fu reference in its features.

Artificer: I like those, I just hope the gunsmith is indeed just a smoke screen for the real arcane archer/fletcher. I think we will be getting the Alchemist, the Rune caster PcR translated to an archetype and the ranged-attack-arcane-smith-enchanter.

Shaman: Some guys are working on a Spiritwalker (shaman) class on this very forum, and its quite good. I hope WotC gives us their version and thats its more than a edgy druid.

Summoner: I'm not sure on those, most of the time I've seen player use pet class, the ''pet'' in question only really existed in combat and had no presence at-all in the character interaction with the world. Want a eidolist/binder to have a creature with a name, not just a random pet with only battle mechanics. I want to play Atreju with Falkor at his side.

I swear, if WotC makes a dedicated summoner, and either of a certain couple someones in our weekly group shows up wanting to play one, I will defenestrate them.

To me its inevitable. I dont know why each time I want to start a medieval-like fantasy, one of my player will want to play:
-A Pokemon master with the most summons he can muster.
-A X-Men who shoot his spells trhu his eyes as beams
-A anime character who's an chaotic neutra underdog with awesome powers that people just cant understang because its so new and impressive.
-Captain jack Sparrow with boobs, especially if there's no large body of water nearby.

But that's the best one! You're a Swashbuckling Rogue with the Pirate background and you stand, foot resting atop your wagon, yelling "Avast!" at random passers-by.

...its mostly an excuse to get drunk in real life and in character at the same time, most of the time, in 6 different campaigns. And of course do a lot of random stuff for the ''lulz, Imma pirate, I dont have to have any logig or sense of self-preservation'' because pirates are the water-bound version of the thief who pickpocket the party. As a Gm, I'd kill to have a well-played pirate once.

My issue with a full summoner isn't as much thematic, as it is a drag-to-a-halt-every-round-as-the-player-spends-10-minutes-taking-their-turn problem.

Now imagine this with drunk guys playing an Anime young Pirate girl summoning 100 monsters thru magic cards, yelling ''go monster X!'' each time while wearing a headband of psychic eye-beams.

Now imagine them demanding the other players make their PCs treat them nicely in game, "cuz Ima so KEWT!!!!"
