What, no Stargate threads?

SG1 has the last ten epsiodes that are being shown now and Atlantis epiosdes are being shown right now as well.

In the US. In the UK and Canada, things are different (the UK has finished both and IIRC Mark is Canadian).

Stargate will be using the Halloween movies method, in that Halloween 3-6 aren't actually part of THE Halloween series but their timelines are from an alternate universe.

Well I had to choose playing in our Savage Tide game over watching Stargate last night, so did Daniel escape from 'the dark side' or is that going to be resolved in the next episode?

Spoilers:

The SG team goes to a planet where a Prior has visited, but find that he has been preaching the "good" aspects of Oragen, with no threats. When the Prior returns... it's Daniel.

They soon beam him up to the Daedelus, keeping him trapped with an anti-Prior device. He claims that Merlin's still inside him, and has kept him protected. He allowed himself to be turned into a Prior, because he has a plan: he nearly completed the Device, luring the Orisai into thinking he was on her side. But, she's not ready to use it yet: the Orii want more followers before attempting to destroy the Ancients. That bought him time to get away and let himself be caught.

He tries to convince the SG team that he has a plan: he can steal an Orii ship, complete the device and fly it through the Supergate before using it to destroy the Orii. He just needs them to detonate a Mark-9 nuke behind the gate, so it will destroy the wormhole blocking travel to the other galaxy.

This causes a lot of arguments, great acting and humor as everyone debates the best thing to do. But, the government doesn't want to take the risk. They want to kill Daniel while they can. In the end, the SG team changes the plan: if Daniel will give them some information, they can steal the ship, finish the device and fly it through the gate themselves. Daniel reluctantly agrees and they set off.

The government decides to at least freeze daniel in stasis. When they try to do so, Daniel overpowers the anti-Orii device, beams the Daedelus crew to Earth, kidnaps O'Neill and steals the ship. He meets up with the SG team, just as they're captured by the Orisai. With a little trickery, he disables her and starts piloting the Orii ship through the gate as the team sets the weapon up.

The plan goes off, everyone gets back to the Daedelus, and Daniel reverts to normal (thanks to Merlin, who vanishes from his mind). They're wondering whether or not the plan worked... when the Supergate activates again. And half-a-dozen Orii ships come through. Mitchell comments they knew that, even with the Orii dead, their followers might keep up the fight. But this was their best chance to win. The episode ends as we see the Orii ships jump to hyperspace, off to keep trying to conquer worlds...

All I have to say, in response to the episode that Kesh is describing, is that they really need to have Richard Dean Anderson guest-starring for the rest of the limited run. His interactions with everyone from "Classic SG-1" were so incredibly natural and great.

I could just feel all the history between the characters during his interactions with Teal'c and Daniel. Even if he's not in the rest of the series, I really hope they find a way to get him into the movies.

Richard proly wont be in the movies, hate to break it...He wasn't in the original movie, and with all that has been said of the pair who created Stargate, they wont acknowledge someone as good as he is at acting. So don't count chickens before they hatch.
After all of this time it is a bit lame that they are even thinking of doing a sequel to the original. I love the Movie, I would have Loved to see a Sequel post haste after the original movie. And I truthfully didn't get into Stargate SG-1 until after a few seasons had come and gone. Now I struggle to catch the reruns.

I am a diehard SG1 fan I have been watching since they first showed on Showtime. As a fan of the show I think it would be great to see what Devlin and Emmerich have planned. Their vision was never the same as the TV series.

I know this idea has a lot of Stargate fans up in arms and yelling foul. But to be fair Devlin and Emmerich had their creation taken away from them and turned over to the series creators. I can see why they would like to see their creation finished there way. They had originally wanted to do a movie trilogy.

It is really no different than the original creator of V the mini series wanting to do a new version following the first mini series and ignoring the second mini series and the TV show, neither were his creation or vision.

I think there is plenty of room in the Stargate universe for both versions.
Oh no those are the same guys who made godzilla. How do they keep getting funding for movies. And why would you follow up your horrible movie, that was saved by a great tv show (the longest running scifi show (american) of all time, with aanother crappy movie that doesnot follow that timeline.

whose going to go see it?
