My first D&D purchase was a Holmes Basic set. Couldn't make heads or tails of it, so I returned it. Then a friend DM'd a session for me and I was hooked! Although I don't think I have any of the actual things I bought back then (wore out/lost/sold/gave away), I have reassembled most of the books and modules that were so magical to me back in Jr. Highschool.

- White boxed set with the supplements (except Blackmoor, darn it all!)
- The entire Basic line of boxed sets and several of the modules.
- Two complete sets of 1E books, including the Deities and Demigods with Cthulu and Elric mythos in it
- One complete set of the 1E mini-books
- One set of 2E, and a partial set of 2.5.
- Top Secret, Boot Hill, used to have Gamma World, but haven't seen it in years.

Only now am I starting to get more 3.0/3.5 than 1E/2E books.

I own all of my 1st Edition books, all first printing. I own the Red Boxed set but that was a yard sale find a few years ago ($2). I've got lots of older first printing gaming products. Feet and feet of shelf space...

I started with the old Eric Holmes Basic Set sometime in late 1980 - and worked my way up from there. Regrettably, I have never been able to lay my hands on any of the original boxed set materials (wait, strike that - I came into a copy of Blackmoor a few years ago). I had most of my OD&D and 1st ed. AD&D materials still until about five years ago - a divorce and a hurricane took out most everything I owned at that point, including all of my gaming materials. Argh.
Over the last year or so I've been attempting to rebuild (futile goal I know) as much of that collection (within some kind of reason) as I can, esp where it won't cost me an arm and a leg. Half Price Bookstores (tm) and a few other local places have helped somewhat in this regard. I've got most of the Frank Mentzer era OD&D books at this point (save Immortals and - ironically - the red box basic set) and a small assortment of companion and master level modules (none of which I ever actually owned originally - strange that).

Still have my Holmes basic set that I started with, with the B1 module in the lovely pale greenish :) The covers of both the module and rule book are held together with tape. Don't have all the box anymore, just the front of the box with the fighter, wizard, and dragon. Still have all the old dice from it, even the d4's are almost round now ;)

Have all the 1e AD&D books, all first editions. All are in surprisingly excellent condition except for the core 3, which have duct tape spines and borders :)

Have a metric buttload of old modules from the day. Got all the Dragons from late 30's to about 120, and all the White Dwarfs from mid 20's to whenever they became an exclusively WH mag.

Got several boxes of the old Grenadier miniatures, only about a fifth of them painted, of course :D

Dropped out of D&D when 2e came out, so have none of that other than the PDF versions I've slowly been buying of FR and Planescape background stuff. Got into Rolemaster, MERP, and Battletech at that point and don't even want to discuss how much of those three I have lying around the game room...

I bought AD&D 2nd Edition: First Quest - Audio CD Game a year ago in pretty much mint condition. The box has suffered a bit, but the contents are unused (the dice bag is unopened and the minis are still attached to the frame or whatever it's called).
Most likely I'll never get to play it, but it looks nice. Now, if only I could get a nice display shelf for that and my 3e stuff...

I have all three of the books and the suppliments that followed (Heck I have everything pretty much thats been printed).. I do not have the original white box though..

Interesting story.. At a young age my parents felt to much of my time was going to this game and really started to become vocal about removing it from my room. So the clever child I was, I hid all the books except the box and put one of my school books in the box to make it heavier then an empty box. A few weeks later, my father threw away the box and the school book in it while I was in school (I hated math at that time anyways). Since then I have managed to collect every aspect of the game, from the initial copies of Dragon and then Dungeon mags to some Convention modules that never seen print.

Let's see. The White Box with the 3 little booklets, along with all the supplements; an extremely worn-out Holmes box; the Moldvay Basic & Expert books; the original 1e MM, PHB, DMG, FF, DDG (though without the Elric/Cthulhu elements), MM2, UA, Oriental Adventures, DSG, WSG, DL Adventures, MotP, GH Adventures; the 2e DMG, PHB, LL, ToM, MM, & Players' Option books; numerous 1e modules; Dragon Magazine from the late 60s to the 180s; and don't get me started about 3e.
