What parts of world-building do you hate most?

Fjords. I can't get the hang of them. My fjords all look the same. :p

I usually go with a campaign setting (and concentrate my creative energy on the details, the stuff the players interacting with most, anyway), but I have this project I worked a bit on, and I guess the worst part will indeed be the maps and such.

Maps. I hate hand drawing maps and I can't find a program to do what I want that I can really use. I would love a program that allows you to make decent large scale maps, but is not as complex to use as Campaign Cartographer. I like Dundjini, but it just isn't the best program for mapping out a decent sized town or city, and not at all useful for a regional map.

I hate not having characters to give me ideas of what exists in the world. Yeah, I can do it top-down, but it's a lot more satisfying for me if I can take your elven scout and Bill's dwarven barbarian and Wayne's human warlock and Kiki's half-dragon dragon shaman and build a world where they make sense as people.

In D&D, it's figuring out what to do with the Abyss, Hell, and its denizens, since my game worlds consistently 1) don't use the standard cosmology, 2) don't have a primeval "fall from grace," and 3) give gods their own home planes. I don't really do that whole Gated Community of the Gods thing.

Nameing things! Honestly, I can develop concepts and deities of pantheons and all the kingdoms of the world and map them out with factideous detail, but ask me to name any of it and I panic.

Yupp, that's it.

Other than naming, I absolutely hate the task of organizing all the stuff. You see, I start jotting down notes for an adventure and the ideas start boiling. I can write new ideas, which of course correlate with a lot of other things, to my heart's delight, but after a few session I'm sitting there with a treasure trove of world information I'll never be able to organize.

Okay, this organizer called 'brain' works for some time, but afterwards all the cool idea degrade to paper corpses I'll never be able to find again.

Names. Coming up with the names that don't sound stupid or generate jokes when they're not supposed to is the hardest thing for me. Everything else is a joy.

I like thinking about most parts of worldbuilding, but I don't like DOING a lot of them. Mostly because I get bogged down in details. I like details, but I get this feeling of "But once this whatever is included in the world, it's fixed, so I better make sure to do it right." That leaves me agonizing over small things, worried that I'm going to make a decision that's going to be difficult to change later. Names get to me especially. Sure I can come up with names...but if I want to really name something important like a city or a god, I want to be sure it's the RIGHT name.

Needless to say, my homebrew has not been brewing very quickly.

Describe me pretty well. Even once I get done agonizing over things, getting it on paper in some coherent form always give me trouble. I've got all kinds of cool stuff in my head either waiting to resolve all the details or to actually get on paper.
