Pathfinder 1E What project would you like Paizo to tacke next for Pathfinder?

What project for Pathfinder would you like Paizo tackle next?

I'd vote for none of the above. What I'd like to see, however, is a Pathfinder Basic game.

That would be a stripped-down d20 game with an old-school basic D&D feel to it. No feats, no skill points, no pumped-up 3.X classes and/or races.

MicroLite Pathfinder - not exactly what your looking for, but closer. (this wasn't created by me. It was written by The Offroad Samurai who just updated me on the progress. More of that here)

What else in particular, if anything, do you envision for such a creation?

Oh, and is it that you believe 3e's classes and/or races to be pumped up, or (as I suspect) Pathfinder's, as opposed to 3e's?

My preference is for materials that flesh out more of Golarion. Even though I may not be able to make use of the material in the short term (just about to start running Shackled City using PFRPG), they are interesting reading by themselves. And my reading them just to read them is likely the fate of most of what is on my gaming bookshelf. Asia and other culturally-themed books (whether racial or locational) are thus high on my preference list.

I believe that the APG will cover my 2nd preference of more material for the player's to use in the current campaign. Psionics and Monster PCs would be on this level of something that could be easily added in, tho my current players have other interests as for PCs to play (tho you never know when a player'll need to re-roll for a new character!).

As for Epic, doubtful I'd ever get around to playing Epic -- barring a Pathfinder Adventure path where the characters start at Epic level (or advance to Epic after the 1st issue). If married to an adventure path, then this would go up a little higher on my list. Otherwise it is easier to start chars at lower level when beginning a new campaign (IMO). And I do not think that an Epic-levels rulebook would be as fun reading on its own. Crunch vs fluff. for certain.

Modern and SciFi would be completely new games, and so lower on my list, but I would love to play a Pathfinderized Starfrontiers game someday.

@Skyhtheen: that's cool. As I enjoy many rules sets, I like the retro feel -- makes me think of those BECMI days of my youth back in the mid-80's.

On topic: I vote for an Asian-themed book most of all. Within such a book a few new fantasy races may be possible, and certainly variants of some core classes would be cool too -- along with some Asian-themed prestige classes. :-)

I also would like to see something like an electronic Encounter Builder rather than any of the above choices. The electronic GMing tools are the #1 thing I liked in 4E above 3.X.

Great to see this thread.

I'm a PFRPG charter subscriber and own every PF/Golarion-based print product to date. Here are my priorities, in order:

1. Please attempt to build electronic gaming tools that equal or exceed the capabilities of WotC's excellent 4E Character Builder and Monster Builder, except for PF/OGL legal content. Incorporated into this, for example, would be all the custom cultural feats, etc. from the Chronicles and the Adventure Path players' guides.

2. Speaking of culture, I can't get enough of the cultural and religious diversity in Golarion. I'd love to see Xian, Vudra, and other "non-Euro" nations get the full Gazetteer treatment, as much of Avistan has.

3. Keep making tightly focused, thematic Adventure Paths in 6-volume sets from levels 1-16 or so.

Thanks,
Nick (loyal charter subscriber)

I sit firmly in the none of the above camp. The list seems to be the usual fare that a new fantasy RPG "has" to roll out. Once the core rulebook is out, it seems that the usual line that follows is what's on the list. I'd like to see Paizo break that mold and bring in something that doesn't follow the usual path.

Information about running countries, mass combats, societal structure and the like would be different and will be forthcoming in many upcoming releases such as the APs and many of the Gamemastery line. I would like to see a book concerning myths, legends and superstitions of Golarion.
