Humans by far most frequently. Elf, Dwarf, and Halfling compete for the second slot. Have NEVER EVER played a gnome and I probably never will. Noone I know has ever played a gnome, nor have they ever been tempted to. And that goes all the way back to 1E.
Outside of the standard races I doubt that I've ever played more than one or two. No Drow or other underdark race, no sub-race of STANDARD elf or dwarf. I think I may have played a half-elf or two but not for a long, long time.
Monster races I think I played a werewolf once in a one-off game of Monsterquest. No vampires though. Had a witch that was once polymorphed into a goblin for a brief but VERY memorable few hours. Don't remember ever playing a half-orc or orc though I suppose I could in the future.
Very limited selection of races that I've EVER played as a player, but have yet to feel highly compelled for any reason to go outside of the standard races for a character concept. Oh, I have a few ideas, but I'm saving them all for special future games when I can really devote time and effort to them for the long haul.
