What Race Do You Usually Play?

I didn't vote: too many choice, it doesn't make sense to me to differentiate between hill dwarves and mountain dwarves. Then, I still cannot fathom what a "Flumph" is.

I don't think the poll should have been simplified. People can always add-up the racial totals if they feel like it to produce more general category results. I found this polling method quite helpful because it allows us to track the popularity of the non-PHB subraces for elves and the like.

Anyway, I'm gratified to see that we humans constitute an absolute majority. I wasn't expecting that and find it intriguing too.

This poll seems like it tries to stuff too much stuff in, IMHO... it's interesting to see all the races listed out, but the results might make more sense if it listed, f'rinstance, "Reptilian Races (Lizardfolk, Troglodytes, Kobolds, etc.)" and "Elemental Races" rather than listing them all out individually.

I Wanna Play A Flumph

Human its the race I was born to play. BUT Flumphs(sorry if i missspelled it) as just so dang cute. NOW I HAVE TO play one

I DM more than I play, but I voted for kobold. I think the numbers are at about 3 each of human and kobold, with a pretty big spread of other races represented by one character each, but kobolds get the nod because I like them.

Forgot to vote last friday... Not that my vote changes the tide much, as the race I have played most frequently is Human. I have played nearly as many humans as elves, but since I rarerly played the same elven subrace twice, the winner is clearly humans.

I think you could have at least allowed multiple choice, and group the monsters in categories, otherwise it would have been very clear that humans would have easily won

My longest-lived characters in 3.x have been an elf and a dwarf, but humans have a plurality for me, too. I think it started with my first rogue (which was a halfling character). I became a skill point whore at that point, and the extra skill points is just too tempting to pass up. So, of my four "main" characters (in three different campaigns), two are human.
