My jealousy meter just went off the charts!

And mine knows no bounds. My one copy of Thieves' World box set walked off when my old group broke up. Along with my collection of the Free City of Haven and the Thieves' Guild material.

For what I have left, my list includes:

Space Opera
Earthdawn (the entire collection)
1ed AD&D Dungeon Masters Guide
Al Qadim Arabian Adventures
Al Qadim Complete Sha'irs Handbook
Dynasties & Demagogues
Arcana Evolved

Wow, I'm amazed at the people who are listing things like Libris Mortis. The Gems of my collection are:

OD&D - The three booklets (the white box long ago bit the dust)

Bunnies & Burrows 2nd edition (from FGU)

Castle Falkenstein - I've had more game ideas from this one book then most of the rest of my collection put together

Ghostbusters - booyah! A classic that's still playable and had an enormous influence on RPG's

Grimtooth's Traps - heh!

Tunnels & Trolls - 5th edition I think, but my copy is still from the late 80's I think

Dead Gods - one of the best adventures ever written

I don't think I can count anything in my d20 collection (which is fairly substantial) as a "gem" yet - they haven't been out long enough to stand the test of time.

"Gems" could mean multiple things: on one hand it could mean your favorite books but it could also mean the most valuable.

As far as value goes, my gems are the original ToEE module, Desert of Desolation series, Vecna Lives and Greyhawk Ruins in mint condition, 2 copies of Greyhawk From the Ashes boxed set, City of Greyhawk boxed set, the Forgotten Realms City of Splendors boxed set, and the Ad&d Core Rules CD's.

My favorite books/products are Grim Tales, Conan d20, City of Splendors, Desert of Desolation series, Greyhawk From the Ashes and City of Greyhawk, Shadowrun Seattle Sourcebook, Mutants & Masterminds core rulebook, Chaosium Call of Cthulhu...I'm sure there's more - that's all I can remember right now.

The "gems" of my collection (in no particular order):

First Fantasy Campaign (Judges' Guild)

The entire line of Star Frontiers boxed sets, modules, and supplements (yup, if it was printed for Star Frontiers, I have it - I don't have all the minis, though, and am not interested in collecting them).

Grimtooth's Traps, Traps Too, Traps Fore, Traps Ate, Traps Lite, and Grimtooth's Dungeon of Doom (Flying Buffalo)

1e PHB, DMG, MM, FF, MMII, UA, and D&Dg (all in excellent condition, I might add)

The Rules Cyclopedia and AC 9, the Creature Catalog

I don't yet treasure my 3e stuff in quite the way I love some of these old things (nostalgia, I guess, but also the fact that many of them would be quite hard to replace), but I'm sure with time, I'll get there.

Most RPGs are really replacible so I don't consider them Gems.

Nightmares of Mine
Grimtooth Traps
Dities and Demigods with the Chuthlu in it
Thieves World stuff (3 box set, modules)
Space Opera box Set
Faux LEather Slayers Handbook
Noir
And White Plum Mountain, Return to White Plume Mountain, and White Doom Mountain (the Hackmaster version). It is my favoriet module of all time.

I have some other dirst estion books of a variety of systems and other old modules and books and settings, but these few are really the ones I like.

Unfortunately, I unloaded a lot of those before anybody ever thought about "collecting" this stuff.

A few other old favorites:

Alarums and Excursions -- There's something about the old issues of this 'zine that make me all misty eyed. There's a fervor in the writing and the crude presentations that's rarely seen today. It always seemed to me as though the people in A&E were so overflowing with ideas, they couldn't get 'em out of their brains and onto paper fast enough.

Top Secret -- original, of course. I have ALL of it. Still dying to play that again.

World of Greyhawk -- 1980. First big, professionally done, campaign maps I ever saw. Inspired endless plagarism.:p

Flash Gordon and the Warriors of Mongo -- by FGU. It was an absolutely stupid game that I never actually played, but I was so smitten by the idea and the book that it remains a treasured favorite to this day.

The gems I foolishly and regretfully let go of in several different purges:

Free City of Haven
Cyberpunk, 1st ed.
En Garde
Dieties and Demigods (yes, the good one!)
Tunnels & Trolls, 1st ed.
The Fantasy Trip
Morrow Project

...and certainly others I'll only remember after I post this. :(
