Core books for games that are OOP, I expect to be limited production runs, or I plan on getting signed. I have "don't touch" copies of the 3E PHB & Shards of the Stone:Core book that I picked up at GenCon and got signed by the artists and everyone else I could corral. I also have a spare set of still-in-the-shrink-wrap 2E books (when the Options books came out) and Cult 2nd Ed.
When 3E came out I bought 2 "DM packs" of the PHB, DMG, MM so I could loan out the spares both in and out of game sessions to the people who were unemployed. Which I guess means I own 3 PHBs, now that I think about it.
I should probably consider ebaying the 2E stuff. Lord knows I don't use it anymore.
