What RPG Products Have You Gotten Recently?

The One Ring Box Set 1 - Adventures Over the Edge of the Wild - Wow, is all I will say. This is an amazing product package, and even though I haven't played it yet, the "feel" of the system while reading it is utterly absorbing. Love the art, and the dice set it comes with are stylish and awesome. Really looking forward for a chance to GM this puppy sometime next year.

Legends of Anglerre - Never tried out a FATE-based system before, but I really liked the ideas and concepts behind this, and the two skeleton settings included. I think we'll end up trying this puppy out at some point as well.

My money's mostly been going into 40K and board games honestly.

I have an (awesome) subscription to the Pathfinder AP. I'm just now getting around to running Rise of the Runelords. It's great - hoping to get to run the latest afterward (Jade Regent?), since it uses the same town of Sandpoint as a jump-off point.

My latest RPG purchases have probably been Ultimate Magic and Ultimate Combat. I haven't gotten to use them in game yet, but glancing over them they really didn't inspire me much; especially Ultimate Combat - which seemed to be mostly about the monk. Certainly not a fan of Gunslinger; I don't want fantasy cowboys in my game, though I wouldn't mind something more akin to a musketeer.

Everything. I'm not pissing about here you know. ;)

Heroes of the Feywild was really strong, but the best of recent releases has to be Mordenkainans ME. Useful, and full of flavour. Couldn't ask for more.

This month:

Heroes of the Feywild
Fourthcore Alphabet PDF
Sly's Guide to Running Epic PDF

... and DDI, which, with the recent Steading, feels as if I bought another PDF product.

GRUPS Social Engineering - like most GURPS books, it is exhaustive in its coverage and bland as dry white toast.

I hoped to get some ideas from Social Engineering for the Flashing Blades courtier house rules I'm working on, and I still might, if reading it would stop putting me to sleep.

With the person I live with out of work and on unemployment I have had to really scale back any luxury purchases so the only thing I have been buying is my subscription for Pathfinder Adventure Paths. I just recently got
Pathfinder Jade Regent Adventure Path.

The One Ring

Picked this up a couple of months ago. If Middle-earth gaming is your thing, you need to get this set. It does a very good job at mimicing the feel of Middle-earth via its mechanics. Solid purchase.

Pathfinder Beginner Box

Great product! Opened it last night for IronPup's birthday. Pawns, wonderfully illustrated books, flip mat, dice and an easy to learn ruleset. Very strong product for getting new people into gaming. Everything you need in one box!

This (in its German translation) and 'The Burning Wheel' have been two of my most recent purchases. I was quite surprised to find that the 'Character Burner' has obviously been strongly influenced by the Middle-Earth setting.

I quite liked both systems (be wary about the German translation of 'The One Ring', though, it's really bad!), but found 'The Burning Wheel' a more inspiring and thought-provoking read. What I disliked about the latter was that it's really rule-heavy. I think I'm going to have a look at 'Mouse Guard' next which apparently uses a simplified version of the rules.

I also bought some 4e books at half price:
- Draconomicon: Chromatic Dragons (meh: it's been an early 4e product and it shows!)
- Essentials: DM Kit (solely for the adventure which reads great!)
- Shadowfell: Gloomwrought and Beyond (haven't read it yet)

I'm still waiting for the 'Monster Burner' and the latest Ars Magica supplement: 'The Cradle and the Crescent' about the Mythic Middle-East.

I bought a bunch of maps recently and Gardmore Abbey. Will get the WOTC Map pack and Dungeon Tiles this month and next, but not much else till I maybe get Elemental; Handbook next year.
