True for RoP, not so for WoT, I would suggest.Rings of Power and Wheel of Time. Frankly, they shouldn't have had even the first season. But after the first season, they certainly shouldn't have had another.
The first season was kind of a mess with all the actors still trying to find the characters to some extent and them trying to work out how to info dump quite complex stuff without overwhelming the viewer, and jamming a lot of plot into a small number of episodes, so I could see people finding that off-putting. And there are also the same kind of purist fans who sneered at TNG, sneered at Jackson's LotR, and so on, who tend to be forgotten with time or who revise their opinions. Which I don't find fault with, note - I've had to revise my opinions on shows before. There have been at least a few shows where I saw some-all of S1 and went "Ugh, no" but later ended up watching more of (usually due to friends) and then ended up thinking were pretty cool.I don't get how anyone doesn't like Wheel....
WoT has potential, I dont think its achieved great show status for me yet, and im not sure it will, but im glad it got additional seasons. I'm happy to stick around and find out.True for RoP, not so for WoT, I would suggest.
WoT has improved season-on-season, which is kind of the reverse of "shows that only should have had one season".
Right? It's not great, but it's good.WoT has potential, I dont think its achieved great show status for me yet, and im not sure it will, but im glad it got additional seasons. I'm happy to stick around and find out.
The first season showed potential, imo. The fact it got another season should remind execs (hahahahaha) that sometimes it takes time to get into the flow......True for RoP, not so for WoT, I would suggest.

Yeah, I wouldn't say it's "must-see TV" or something (like early GoT was), but the actors are giving very charming and believable performances and they've managed to do some stuff exceptionally well which I really thought would have been very hard to do. I got room for a 7.5/10 (and rising) fantasy show, especially because it's what I'd call "actual fantasy", with like blatant magic and so on, rather than "basically historical fiction but there are dragons" (as GoT was).WoT has potential, I dont think its achieved great show status for me yet, and im not sure it will, but im glad it got additional seasons. Fox News - the joke quickly wore thin
The first season isn't great, its really not. But I will fully say the last two seasons were a MAJOR improvement. Kind of like 1st season of Next Gen and future seasons.I don't get how anyone doesn't like Wheel
My answer would be an unequivocal no. If the seasons between 1 and the ending were good, they were good. Full stop. Its an interesting question of if you had a great 1st season and the next several seasons were solid, but then the ending was god aweful, would it have been worth cutting out all of those other seasons just to have a 1 and done without the bad ending?
